  1. when lamping off the van mate you need quick dogs to get to the fox(well you do where i live),when we see a fox we just stop in a suitable position to get a run(quickly though), the dogs know there job there gone over the gate, hedge(providing its not to high) or wire.its very rare i stop mate to be honest to squeak them in,but if i do engine off one stops at van and the one squeaking walk down the road away from the van.its worked a few times but the time it takes its easier to drive on and look for an other. cheers hbg

  4. if the owner of the dog is genuine mate he will let you take the dog on trial for a week or 2,that way no money changes hands and you dont get stuck with a poor dog. cheers hbg
  5. i lamp off the back of the van mate and need a good length beam,i have found this the best for my job,but if i am gonna walk the fields for rabbits i agree they are a bit big and i use the next one down. cheers hbg

  7. weather crap but sick of sitting in,but got a result,only out for an hour and a half.
  8. weather crap last night for lamping so i was up soon and out for a walk,got a half run on a couple of deer that chunk and my spaniel put out of a wood,they were to far off when jim and remus seen them. acouple of fields further on had a good run on a hare before remus killed it.same field another hare,a brilliant course but it lived for another day.
  9. hes not single handed on fox mate,but he as caught some good foxes running with another dog.
  10. this is a saluki greyhound x bull greyhound,26 inch very quick will catch foxes but needs to be with something else,caught rabbits, hares ,and deer.please pm for more details.

  12. to be honest mate i have'nt a clue. usually i lamp 3 times a week and get 3 or 4 a night, but i have only been going once a week this season because of work <{POST_SNAPBACK}> thats what should be banned WORK i hate the word
  13. for the way i lamp,they need speed to get there,then the gameness when they get there,the endurance to do it all night(our lass says i have'nt) the trainability comes with practice. cheers hbg

  15. jim and remus caught the sixth.we lamped from 11-30 to about 5-30 got soaking wet but it was worth it.

  18. third caught by blue and spike,blue is remus's half brother diff grey but same bull,and spike is a bull cross but with a bit of everything else in as well
  19. the second also caught with jim and remus.
  20. out last night and all morning caught 6 foxes.had 4 dogs with us but only ran 2 at a time. here's the first one we caught with jim and remus.
