    Well I'd been out twice on the farm and both times managed to bag a rabbit, both in tricky conditions. I'd arranged to take Daz39 along with me last night, it'd been pretty nice (cold but calm) for a few days but yesterday was aweful! Driving rain, strong winds etc... The forecast said it would stop raining about 3 so we decided we'd go anyway. Sure enough the rain had stopped, but the wind made shooting impossible on the fields.     2 types of R10, the VC has an unshrouded barrel and a VC moderator. The other is the Bull barrel, basically a shrouded barrel and no moderator.

    Tonight was the night that I popped my cherry. Not the best conditions, pretty windy, totally clear sky and a nearly full moon, just enough to keep me on my toes. Long story short, it was on the smallest field on the permission which is a squared off P shape. I thought I'd do this one 1st and see what the crack was. I started off walking up the long section on the left hand side, got to the top and turned right, got to the boundary and turned right again.     Not so long back I posted a begging thread asking if someone would take me out and show me the ropes with nothing but a Thankyou to offer in return. 1 person followed through with his public promise, and that was none other than Big Mac!     Pellet size is an issue with the mags. JSB Exacts work perfectly in mine, JSB Exact Express jam all the time as they're slightly shorter and when you load them in the mag they skew slightly. If you load the skirt first from the front of the mag you don't have the issue.

    Thanks to Mac, I know have the bug! At the start of the week I sent some emails out to local golf clubs but as expected, everyone of them had someone doing the job already. Yesterday I went on Google maps and bookmarked 20 local farms, printed out my letters and went round 9 this morning. I managed to speak to 4 who all said no but the other 5 got a letter through the door. I'll do the rest next weekend, unless I get a response from this batch. Hopefully by doing some leg work my efforts will pay off. I only want 1, that would be enough to keep me busy with the ability to

    Brilliant write up mate. Another huge learning experience and it was a pleasure hanging off your coat tails Mac's the master hunter for sure, but it's good to watch others.
