  1. The boards are matte finished, not sure if that prevents ricochet compared to a shiny finish they back onto a small thicket, if they do ricochet they'd be directed into many twigs, branches and trees etc Thank you though, I shall be cautious. Grae
  2. Nahhhh, were like the Swat mahn, we have all the cool shit non of this jihad stuff haha
  3. im still to decide which actually has anything beneficial otherwise i think i may go for a tactical this time maybe we should sit on roof tops with walkie talkies
  4. gutted for you mate, could the weather be something to do with it? we have had the March snow and the recent heat waves, could throw quite a few animals off :-/ I'm just sorry for your loss, not a nice scene i could imagine
  5. what's it like in tactical? did you try both types? Grae
  6. anyhow, in my garden, i managed to secure two black wardrobe doors from a neighbor and using them in the trees to stick my targets too. tacky as it is, the black doors blends into the tree shade, so once i take the targets down you don't notice them. quite a nice set up for a novice but soon to me moving house so see what i end up with. what are these pull targets like? any thing good about them? Grae
  7. Far from it. You must have been asleep i was reading about shooting in a garden, cardboard protecters then straight into trading pics and women ;P come on lads
  8. Cheers matey, i shall have to drop him a message and see what we can work out. Tonight i should know how much i can spare and when i can purchase anything, exciting day for me ^_^
  9. i can picture your smug face, full of pride You seem to like your .25 then? any advice for a .22 shooter looking to convert? Grae
  10. *possibly more, perhaps better to PM me when you know if shes making any more haha
  11. if she can make one slightly bigger (i got stubby fingers ) i'll happily pay £6-8
  12. it just seems stupid having people to promote pellets that could suit only them. Same with gun specs, like the Crosman. Surely if every rifle brand used an industry standard pellet for each calibre, every gun spec would be fair. I like Phantoms "Barrals are like finger prints, unique" comment, i think thats defined everything i needed in 6 words Thanks to everyone, i appreciate everything and that you're all coping with a complete noob Grae
  13. Thank you all so far for the help, appreciating the lack of trolls around here with being a newb, it'd be too easy to get me So why does "Joe Bloggs" (now a celebrity shooter ) says he loves and promotes XYZ pellets if every barrel is different? Yes, good promotion for the company but surely everyone would know that with the same gun the pellet could still be shoddy? As a keen hunter, i take the pellet heads into consideration: wanting a nice, clean kill. I know theres different pellets for different ways to kill from hollow points to pointed and everything inbetween but i think i'll
  14. Hey guys, First sale so bare with me Here i'm looking to sell my recently acquired BSA Lightning with wooden stock as I'm looking to move into the PCP market. I've owned this for little over a month and taken it hunting twice and had many an accurate and well executed kill with it- i don't take pictures otherwise i'd have a few to show you for reference. The condition is pretty good, i've noticed an odd knock here and there but only cosmetic, ive not long had it serviced from the shop i purchased it from, so, i assume it should keep its condition for quite some time before anothe
  15. cheers matey, what's hunting like in Fiji?
  16. Hey guys, I've noticed on a few forums, videos, reviews and testimonials that people always pairing specific pellets with their rifle, is there a reason for this? do specific pellets work better with some brands or calibre sizes? If i've lost you, this may help explain my point. or i've noticed with H&N Pellets, they have some that help to be more accurate upto "x" of distance while hunting or use with with specific barrels types. Am i reading too far into this or is there some truth to using specific pellets and brands for your specific rifle/use? Anything is appreciated Grae
  17. i'm shooting pretty well with my .22 BSA Lightning, however ive never used a .177 to tell you any different.
  18. Cheers buddy, where about do you go? don't worry, due to my fellow hunter working for the MOD we keep our distance, we go up near Dawley to a permission, seems to be going well so far Hope to see you around and on the forum too. Grae
  19. Generally its placed near the tail, hence the saying "is your brain in your arse?" hope this helps
  20. Hi Craig, I've seen a few daystate videos (Team Wild?) that highly honor them and they look like the dogs danglers i think cash is my main concern as for how often i hunt, i don't think would justify the price im only starting off really so i still have much to learn and the ladder of weapons to climb up, thank you for you help. Grae
  21. Assuming its below the 12FPE you don't need a FAC for it? would you say at that spec its still as good as a .22? Sounds like a good rifle to use for the stuff i'll be shooting (general farm yard pests) but obviously, if i need to pay for a FAC(?) or anything, it just makes the gun more expensive and exclusive use as to my .22 Lightning. I'm just looking to confirm kills as much as wound something and chase it about, i like to think i have a clean conscience and sleep at night Grae
