  1. been there many a time! if you have some spare time Sunday9:45am meet, get your self down to old down pursuits ,this Sunday there are a few of us going there thanks very much for the invite, but its typical, ive got a work party on my fishing syndicate tomorrow at 10am
  2. Wiltshire gun Center in Devizes, it has an 25m indoor range, they are building a 50m range upstairs and it has a FB range too but im not sure how long it is but a guy was shooting a Blase R93 7.62 in there, all built in the mouth of an old railway tunnel.
  3. In a local gun shop ordering a new air rifle when a guy walks in with a case, lays in on the counter, opens it up and out comes this awsome looking Blaser, get chatting to him and he lets me have a hold and a look through the £2500 Zeiss scope, it was mint. He then offers to come in next week and help me set up new gun and scope and get it zero'd. Of course i took him up on it as one day he may let me put a few down the range with his Blaser. After years or carp fishing where i'd got used to a lot of people being very secretive and often rude, i have to say ive had nothing but friendlyness and
  4. Guys Having had no former experience of this type of insurance, apart from the cost differences is there much to choose between them thanks in advance Paul
  5. Well back i went and had another few rounds on the indoor range, chatted to a guy in the next booth who offered me a go on his 510 hunter multishot which i accepted, that was it i was sold, i thought the 400 was smooth but the 510 was superb, so im a few few £££ lighter but you only live once, and my new gun should be in for collection on wednesday, definately wont sleep tuesday night, and i found out the guy who let me use his 510 lives in a nearby village so we hope to get a permission or 2 together.
  6. Thanks for the info guys cheers Paul
  7. that i tried before i bought, well ive nearly bought. its been 25+ years since ive done any air gun shooting and things have moved on a bit since then. I did a fair bit of reading and ended up thinkg i wanted a springer in 95 or 97, but really a pro sport but i thought they would be too much £££. Anyhow i nearly drove 2 hrs for a pro sport but it fell through (long story). After a bit more searching i found a dealer half hour away with an indoor range and a 2nd hand pro sport for sale. Off i pop today feeling like the cat that got the cream to find he has 2 2nd handpro sports in .177 and .22.
  8. Fleece rips in the wind, ive got raised beds up my allotment all the same size, and i knocked up some frames that can be moved to which ever bed i need then for, i cover the sides in scaffold netting and the top in butterfly netting, its works a treat and ive been catipillar free for the last 2 years. scaffold netting is also good to cover caroots to keep the fly off. atb Paul
  9. This might help you http://www.freewebs.com/stripdowns/hw97kstrip.htm

  12. As title, must be a good clean gun, face to face only, im in Warminster, Wiltshire but will travel a reasonable distance for the right setup. If you have something then please pm me details and a price. many thanks Paul
  13. thanks guys, feel like a kid in a sweet shop, so much to choose from.
  14. Join a local club that has several waters for you to choose from, stay away from commercial carp fisheries unless you want to pay £25 for 24hrs and be rammed in at weekends. Get yourself a good all round rod, unless you are fishing for big carp an allrounder will be fine and some new stuff is cheap enough now. be careful buying from carboots unless you know what you are looking at as there is a lot of stolen stuff about, tackle thefts are becoming more and more common, if the seller doesnt seem to know what he is talking aboiut then be wary. There is loads of good stuff on the net and plenty
  15. Ive always fancied any sort of big game fishing off a boat and have been on holiday in several places where they do it, but it was just too expensive, and although the wife gave me the green light i just couldnt justify it to myself, will have to stick to my carp syndicate for £150 a year.
  16. In pursuit of the largest by Terry hearn is a cracking read especially if you like carp.
  17. You dont need to pile boilies in to use them correctly, price has nothing to do with how you use them, its location and application. If you pay £10 a kilo then imho you have money to waste, there are so many more good foodsource boilies out there than cell, i roll my owm using ABS base mixes which works out at much less than £5 a kilo.
  18. What does the tuning to these achieve as im hoping to get one of these soon, have seen the v mach fitted which seems to produce a smoother/quieter shot, i take it that an increase in power isnt the target.
  19. Hu guys im after a bit of advice regarding scopes, im on the lookout for an HW95 and wondered if anyone can reccomend a scope to match the rifle suitable for rabbits to 30yrds, preferably something that wont break the bank but will be good enough for to sight for headshots. many thanks Paul
  20. Thought i'd best say hello, its been a very long time since the days of an old airsporter and i have some rats and pigeons to sort out. If anyone has a hw95 local ish to me then give me a shout. The more i look the more i want LOL cheers Paul
