  1. Nice shooting tex! I love it when you get a kill at a decent distance, chuffed for you mate.
  2. I was told that the 3 notches on the chamber where you put the pellet is how you tell. ( evenly spaced or not) is this true?
  3. Out of the 97 and the tx200, its the tx for me as it sholders better but different strokes for different blokes I guess. Like to try a 77 before I make my mind up for sure.
  4. Weirauch or air airms are the best really mate. What are you thinking of using them for, target or hunting?
  5. I also used aa field pellets but was recommended rws superdomes which I also found good and they are cheaper! Worth a try.
  6. Cheers for that pal, much appreciated! :-)
  7. Tx200 I say! Cracking rifle, you wont be dissapointed.
  8. Cheers mate, ill have a search and see if I can fettle with it abit. How/what did you polish it with?
  9. If he is full of it then its a total f***ing discrace. I got a mate who's a squadie and is NOT IMPRESSED! As most people should be, our armed forces dont get enough recognition for me as they get the worst of it and are always s**t on. God bless them all, past and present!
  10. I don't earn much and don't get paid til the 25th but more than willing to donate some money if we can get medals back to this poor bloke. This country makes my blood boil!
  11. Agreed with everyone else, get a decent second hand rifle. Youll only kick your self when you shoot a decent rifle. (Airarms or weirauch)
  12. Cheers for the replie gasman, just wanted to make sure I didn't over do it! I'm gonna order some cheap pellets to fire through it then re chrono it as it feels alot different, but better:-) . You got same rifle?
  13. Update. Stripped down the rifle today and the insides were really black and glupey so I cleaned it all out with a rag then put new grease on it but sparingly! But it back together, re-zeroed the sights and shot about 50 pellets through it. Seems better now. Does any know how much lube is enough/to much?
  14. Agreed on the fact its an excellent rifle just need a relube I think? Ill strip it down and polish it up and lube it and see if that makes a difference. Any lubes recommended?
  15. Hi barrywhite, my mates is longer but with walnut stock so seems a little lighter and a couple of years newer. If I clean the internals and re-grease I thought that should sort it out. Any idea what type and how much grease to use?
  16. Sorry forgot to add its a .22 it just seems a little rougher than my mates. Seems to pull the odd shot so I just want to make it smoother. Some people say tuning it will sweeten it up abit but just unsure whats best? Are there any tuning options for these rifles? Or is it best just to clean it up and re-grease. What type of grease do you use?
  17. Hello all, I've just aquired a tx200 hc and was wondering what I could do to smooth it out abit. Had it chroned and its shooting 11.4 with air arms field so the power not a problem, its just doesn't feel as smooth as my mates which is the same but just not hc. Im quite handy with tools so dont mind having a go myself. Is changing the spring and such like the best road to go down? Any advice would be great!
  18. Hello mate, I second what pianoman says, Im also getting back in to shooting after a lengthy break so decided to get a decent springer to start from the bottom up with air arms tx200 hc 22, lovely gun without much recoil. just go to your local gun shop and sholder a few til one feels right.Little hint though, if you are new try targets before hunting so your more likely to get a clean kill! All the best with your choice as it can be difficult! 22 better for hunting rabbits, packs more punch!
  19. Thanks for the welcome. Just purchased an AA tx200 hc so should be knocking themout the sky........ hopefully!
  20. Thanks again mate for your honesty about the rifle. Soon as I got back shot solid for an hour, bang on target, wonderful. Going to that shoot end of the month so might see you there. Your new gun, really nice, gave me thoughts of gettin one, mmmmm!
  21. Hello all, looking forward to learning from you all as I've not been shooting for a number of years now but gonna get stuck in all the same!(couldn't hit a cows ass with a banjo some times, lol)
