maby your right but you cant find workers like these near by. i dont have to drive to poland myself for her it and the pup dont cost to much can the dog have problems holding a fox because of her underbite? some people told me a dog with a underbite can bite harder?
-
was thinking about buying a jagd pup out of good lines from poland. made a reservation for a female but has an underbite. what do you lads think about buying a working terrier with an underbite do you think it bothers him working? how big is the chance his pups will have the same when breeding with her.

Semen Straws And Artifcial Breeding
Jachtterrier replied to Tommy pepper's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
i dit artificial insemination once at one of my boerboels. the bitch didnt hold the stud dog so i asked the vet how to do it. normally they will check the sperm but when you have had pups from this dog already i dont think you have to. every cow farmer has a barrel to keep sperm to inseminate ther cows with maby you know someone who can keep it for you for free. I'm about to get a boerboel from SA and a man named Lukas van Vuuren. How are they around the terriers? have had contact with lucas myself too to import a black boerboel from SA. i have 2 brindle boerboels myself a male -

how many DJT do you know (have you seen in your life)? and how many where good? and screaming is a sign for good quality then i will buy a parrot! No i hate it when they are screaming when whe are digging. what i am trying to say is that every breed has his good and bad things. but : how many DJT do you know (have you seen in your life)? and how many where good? I know there are also jagds that are no good im not trying to say they are better dan a patterdale below ground, but above they can do more. when i was only digging to my dogs i might only be working with oth -

Jachtterrier replied to Nat Foy's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
There is a lot of difference between working and working. dont think they cant handle his quarry underground. i think there a jagd is the hardest breed of terriers there is, but thats also why some people dont like them because they can get injured a bit more. -

maby you have just seen the whong one. same as pats every dog is different. i start working my jagds when they are 8 monts. i have a patterdale here 1 year old out of good working lines but it take a lot more time till they are mature enough. i patterdale is a lot calmer while digging to another dog. a jagd wil scream like crazy because he want to go to ground too. a jagd is verry good to use for bushing rabbits and foxes, they have verry good noses and start to scream when they are up to something so you know there is something coming. they will bring back small game pretty well too -

Would like to share some pics i have made this week. Jagdterrier male (8 months) bolted his first fox My new 8 month old patterdale bitch from Cloot's in Belgium

she simply wants to stay in the den. since i have her see runs free around the farm all day and she comes inside in the evening. when were out for a walk she walks free with the other dogs without walking away. now i am starting to get a bond with her in the beginning she walked away from me when i wanted to pick her up. she wont come verry fast when i ask her to come. the pig hunter had her in a kennel 7 days a week and only came out for a hunt, the man had about 40 dogs so dont think he spend a lot of time in this dog. i already worked one fox with her this one was bolted and

i located the dog at 8 feet deep and the ground was frozen. when i should dig her out i think she went do another place in the den when opening the pipe. i thought let him stay for a long thime should be a ponishment for her so she will come out faster the next time? i let her enter an empty den before and she did exactly the same. i bought this jagdterrier from a pig hunter couple of weeks ago because its really small for a jagd and want to breed my jagds as small as possible because lots of them are to big for earthwork. but when she is keeping this behavour she can nog stay here.

Went for a dig satureday, one of the dogs killed the fox in the den when i wanted to dig her out. let one of the new dogs to ground to learn her to go to ground. the dog was staying in the den for a verry long time so i called for her but she was not coming. after almost an hour i could see her head and tryed to get her but she was back in the pipe very fast. so we where waiting again, after another half hour waiting the dog was still in the pipe. we decided to close the pipe with some wood so the dog could not walk away and come back later and let the dog walk oud of the pipe. after about

19 inch span to big for ground work?
Jachtterrier replied to Bigjoe90's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
i have a 19 inch terrier, only fits in 5 of the 10 tubes and sometimes it will take a bit longer for him to get there. i dont agree a terrier can get there if he wants to, lots of tubes are just to small. a bigger, stronger terrier is good to have around but you will need a smaller dog too for the small tubes. -
terriers bitches after pups
Jachtterrier replied to whippet 99's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
it definetly make differents when your dog have had a litter. your dog will be mutch more confident and you will see that directly when you hunt with them. One of my jagd females was always only baying to a fox in a den and keeped some distance. after her her first litter she started killing them -
Jagd terrier for ground work??
Jachtterrier replied to EnglishBulldog's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
dont't have any pictures of it. have seen him by a pig hunter with about 40 dogs, jagds, drathaars only. i asked about the cross but he said it was nothing special. i think the dog was about 20 kilo's, long legs and ditnt look verry strong, dont think they will stop a runner but depending on the dogs you will use to make the cross with they can be good dogs i think and the cross can look mutch different than the cross i have seen -

Jagd terrier for ground work??
Jachtterrier replied to EnglishBulldog's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
i have seen some drathaar x jagd crosses.. good looking dogs but nothing special to see.. in size they where just a bit smaller then a drathaar, so why should you cross them. a drathaar dont need anything from a jagd to make him a good pig dog.
