Just for instance if it was dark and your dog was off the lead in a field with a footpath on it and there were no animals in the field and to find your dog you have a really powerfull torch on you and your dog court a couple of rabbits and the police came what would you get done for. That's just for instance.

If there are no animal in a field which has a public footpath that goes though it can I let my dog off the lead and if so what happens if it catches a rabbit. Can I get done by the police?

Iv been ferreting today with too of my hobs on some permission iv got at some horse fields. Still a lot cover but all the hay has been cut, didn't use nets just wanted to bolt them for my whippets. Did about 8 warrens and didn't bolt one rabbit all morning. Why? This is only my second season ferreting so any help please.

Cheers some really good Idears. I like the dog and would love to get him to do his job properly. I walk him off the lead during the day around our local fields and he just stays by my side it just once I shine the lamp and slip him if it gets away he runs around the field and comes to about 20 ft away from me and I av to jump over walls or under fences to get him back on lead. -
Im running a 3 year saluki bull x I have only had him a year and he comes straight back when out in the day but once I slip him at night he won't come back and I av to go get him. Iv tried him with treats but he not interested. Any help please.

It's sounds to me that you av done a lot of research and you have it all under control I think if your keen enough to care so much it will all work out in the end. I can't give any advise because I'm only a beginner myself. Good luck. -
I think if your stud is good at its job why not carry the blood line on. But if it's just for the money I don't think it should be done.

I'm going camping next week up at appeltree wick in the Yorkshire dales and going to do a bit of lamping any suggestions on what it will be like. ?

Does the skill of lamping come with experience? Just comin in to my second season didn't catch a great deal last season and wanting to progress my skills. Any more help full tips?

This is my first season running a working whippet he 23 inch. I took him out on lamp for the first time last week he had about 3 runs and court one but they where all near the hedge he looks really fast but wouldn't let go once he got it.
