  1. Here's a few randoms I came across....crummy cell pics...as I mentione earlier, we don't take good cameras in the marsh.... Bulldog (my husband's) found and caught this sow by himself. This is the one off Yogi x Carla.
  2. That's awesome! We always have our youngest with us when we go start up pups. She's their cheerleader! She's already got her first pair of boots, and gets out there and tries to handle the dogs already, lol and she's only 2! Has she gone out in the woods yet with ya? Nice hog by the way.....you ever have any scored for fun?
  3. Oh wow......did he have a good nose? What'd you use him on primarily?
  4. So does anyone here run any dogs that have BT crossed in? I've heard some folks that have BT crossed into other terrier like jagds and patts and lurcher crosses that really liked how they turned out. Oh, just for fun, so no one else gets the 'wrong first impression' of me....here's me...not old, not 40 pounds overweight, NOT wearing elastic waisted pants NOR sneakers that velcro! (wth?) Imagine that! haha
  5. This by far was one of the most entertaining off topic posts in this thread. First of all, yes, I am a woman, and I am VERY serious about my dogs. I am a family woman, I do have kids as a matter of fact! And all of them are under 18, lol. 8-O I'm actually in my 30's. Hate drawstring pants......blue jeans and camo here, every day LOL. Yep, I was a tech for a good while. So? Make sense I'd have a profession where I get to work with animals every day, when dogs are a big part of my life, ASIDE form my kids, lol. No fur mommy here buddy.I do not group my dogs in the same classification as my child
  6. just out of intrest do you use any of the american bulldogs for pig work and if so what are the better lines of bulldogs being used, I have a standard type American Bulldog. Not too educated on Am Bull lines. The one I have here catches well. Only take him every now and then. I try and handle the smaller dogs.
  7. So anyhow, moving right along back to the original topic, if anyone else here cares to chat about the BT breed or uses them to hunt, feel free to share!
  8. WBT-You keep tryin to convince folks you hunt, but post pics of "canned" stuff, as well as bulldogs and terriers that look as if they never had a tooth in them. I know folks that hunt in the swamps, bogs, and marshes from East Texas to Georgia and they all have pics. By the looks of that bitches nails I would guess she hadnt been "hunting" in a while. I dont know if you do or dont, but your not making the best case for yourself if you want others to believe you do. Take care. No no. I'm not trying to "convince" anyone of anything. You speak of reading comprehension.....obviously you
  9. Was that pig tethered? How much room did it have to move around in? Just that you say " Another "piglet" at our buddie's house that we were getting ready to slaughter. ;-D" It's hardly hunting if the animal was being kept to kill .......... Pig was not tethered, if it were, the dogs would not need to catch him for us. No kidding it wasn't hunting. As I stated, that pig was wild caught on a hunt the day prior. He was in a wide open pen, and the dogs had to catch him for us to grab him to slaughter him, to eat. We don't waste what we hunt here.
  10. **I'd like to ad, for the photo enthusiasts.....we live/hunt in the SWAMP. Not too many folks out here while hog hunting in the very wet muddy swamp/marsh are too concerned with toting expensive cameras with them to get some fun pics. We usually end up with dark fuzzy crap cell phone pics and those never look too good once transferred to the desktop....at least not from mine anyway, haha. I don't have one of those IPhones, and if I did, best believe I wouldn't be taking it out in the marsh. If we hunted out in wide open dry plain type areas, we'd have many many photo albums full here.
  11. Here's another I found of the bitch schooling the pup. Another "piglet" at our buddie's house that we were getting ready to slaughter. ;-D
  12. Here's a small tibit of a video compilation of my husband's 14 pound Patt baying hogs between 150-300 + lbs, for those who would enjoy it. Yes, we know the 150lb is laying on his side, this was due to the fact that the Patt had been baying him for a good hour and a half before we started actually fiming that scene, and it was 100 + degrees that day. Even though his cutters were not big, that same hog almost killed a dog the day before. He will catch hogs by himself, but if it's anything over about 150 he will bay until back up arrives, at which time he will catch. %A2%20View%20topic%20-
  13. For the record, that hog was no hogzilla, but it certainly wasn't a "piglet." Haha. As I stated, we were just starting up the pup in the picture. There was one adult, and one pup in that photo. We wouldn't start any dogs on anything smaller than 50-60 pounds.
  14. NICE! Lovin the cooler temps here. We're itchin to get on some bacon!
  15. So far, I've met alot of pleasant folks through this forum, I do like this place. Only thing I noticed is that sometimes in some threads people assume that if you don't post up photos of the dogs working that that automatically means that they must not work or be worth a damn, haha. I don't come on these forums to try and impress or prove anything to total strangers, I come to this place to share enthusiasm about my dogs and to enjoy reading stories about others' dogs and experiences as well. I know my dogs' worth, that's why I feed 'em and scoop their shat every day.
  16. Hope she finds her way home and is recovered safely
  17. I love seeing these dogs in actual shape, and not looking like an lb log with legs. That's a very good looking dog there.
  18. Here's one of my prospects. He's already started baying hogs.
  19. I love the running shot! Nice photography. I didn't realize they had a "Folk" nation up there in Michigan, lol. Guess the gangs are everywhere. You don't see them much where I am from, but you always heard stories on the news about them. That's a beautiful lurcher by the way.
  20. No I never owned any from Carla. Pretty sure the last I saw her was at Brumley's. I had her mom Oreo for a while. She was an honest bulldog like her daddy. Nice...I bet she was. I have an older bitch here that family bred on some older Eli blood....I want to back her to my male off Yogi before she passes. She's a tall, thick boned classic looking jet black bitch, honest bulldog for sure. That'll probably be my last bulldog breeding for a long while.
  21. The bitch is actually due to drop any day now, so it'll be a bit before I can answer that question
  22. Oh wow ok. I do believe the gentleman my husband got his dog from owned Carla at the time she passed away. I'd have loved to have seen her in person. This same gentleman is who I got my heavy six bits male from that I posted prior in this thread. Do you have any dogs left down from Carla?
  23. WBT, I was just wondering if you had any tail gait shots after the fact of your BT's that is all. I'm just so use to the States where enthusiastic people are talking about hunting/working there dogs and next thing you know there's a litter of pups on the ground ,I'm sure you know where I'm coming from.. Hogs are dangerous for a dog how many seasons will you work him till you know whats what? Will you free cast or will he be used as just a catch dog? I have not produced ONE litter since about 2010. And that was a bulldog bitch of mine that is up in age. My husband's BT bitch I speak of
