What was/is your best pot filler? What cross, height, what quarry did it have the most success and if you have got any pics that would be good.
-
Don't think height is the most important factor to make a good fox dog generally a bigger dog will do better (from my experience) but each dog is different and it's what is in the dog that makes the dog.

Unbelievable Jeff!!!

Thanks for you suggestions lads I'm going to get berretta 686.

Just seen the new Subaru forester and was well impressed showed good off-road capabilities and seems practical and seamed to be well build so should last and much prefer it than a pick-up. So this is probably the car I'm going to buy. Thanks for you opinions and suggestions they are much appreciated.

Rhodesian Ridgeback X Greyhound
EnglishBulldog replied to EnglishBulldog's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Yeah I've heard that mate and if it's not this cross it will be Dh/Gh x Collie/Gh. -
Hi I am a big fan of the rhodesian ridgeback and I'm a lurcher man at hart and i was wondering if this cross would be solid on rabbits and deer. And I know their are better crosses for the job but I know what I like.

Wildfowling And Rough Shooting Dog
EnglishBulldog replied to EnglishBulldog's topic in Gundogs & Retrievers
if you've the right lab it'll wreck all the cover in ireland... i think personally a pointer is easier trained than any other dog to shoot with,,, and if you'd the room for 2 dogs a pointer for birds is ideal and a lab for wildfowl mate you can't go wrong with them 2 keep lab at your heel when training and your pointer a rangey dog for hunting You may be on to something gouldy as why worry on what is the best all rounder when you can have one of each as i am a big fan of the lab and they are excellent for wildfowling and the German wirehair pointer or nice springer which is good for flush -
Wildfowling And Rough Shooting Dog
EnglishBulldog replied to EnglishBulldog's topic in Gundogs & Retrievers
Yeah i'm a big fan off the lab far more than the springer but i have heard that they aren't any good at flushing game. I was considering a cocker spaniel as they seem like a good all rounder. But knowing me i will go for another lab in my opinion ya just can't beat them. -
Hi i recently posted on what the best rough shooting dog is an the majority was a "good springer" but they are not the best for wildfowling. I also know that the lab is a favorite of the wildfowler but aren't the best for rough shooting. So my question to you is what is the best mix between wildfowler and rough shooter because i enjoy bough and unsure what dog to get.

Just went to thorsby game fair and went in the New isuzu D-Max (Hunter ADDITION) and i was really impressed although it about 5000 more than what i want to pay i think i can stretch to that as it is meant to get around 35 to the gallon and can toe 3 ton and carry 1 so it probably the best option for me as you do also get a 5 year warranty which is really impressive on a commercial vehicle.

The decent, proper dog people do..... Actually - I don't need to justify myself to you. There are people on here, whose opinion I value very highly - like Bu -
