Hi i posted in here a permission available last week as i couldn't post anywhere else, that a moderator kindly moved to the correct section as i could post in that section, but now i can't post any replies to it. For some reason I can't post this in the correct section. I wonder if a moderator could for me. I know, reading on here, that its difficult to obtain a shooting permission. Well here is your chance. I've 100 acres of rolling countryside (woods, fields etc) that require vermin control, especially rabbits. I'm taking a long term view, so am looking for an experienced, local person, who can commit on a regular basis, to controlling the vermin on the Estate as the land has not been shot in years. Being relatively tall I'd go for at lest a 30" but try a 32" Make sure the length of pull. The distance between the trigger and butt of the gun is long enough for you. (Around 14¾ - 15¼" but you need to try it again dependant upon your physical build. Next is the height of your eye in relation to the bead. For sporting your eye should be looking almost along the rib. If it's to high your shoot over the targets and need to aim well under the clays to hit them. Where are you located.

Before you shoot anything you need to make sure that the gun fits you, eye dominance and you are looking where you are shooting. Pop along to a county show with your gun and get one of the BASC or CPSA coaches to check. They will normally do it for nothing or for a few pounds give you a lesson.

Black gold are extremely good but not worth the extra for a normal club shooter. Gamebore blue diamond are a very good compromise. They pattern extremely consistently & you definitely wouldn't know the difference between them and black gold. Cheaper cartridges generally give you more perceived recoil and don't pattern as well. Despite Hull's claim that superfast are 1500ft/sec they test in the low 1400ft/sec.

Depends upon your build and what gauge shotgun you are after. If it's a semi-auto they are generally longer so beware

Just applying for a FAC myself. I live near Oxford but have a farm in Devon. Was thinking of an Air FAC & 17hmr + mod for rabbits as i'm plagued with them. Reading above, do you think its worth getting an additional calibre at the same time.
