  2. Hi just looking to find out if anybody in the Kent/south east area is planning on having any whippet based lurcher or whippet litters soon or know of some already, its for my brother he just wants something for mooching and a bit of ferreting with me (collie x whippet / beddy x whippet ect) any help would be appreciated - Thanks a lot - Ash
  3. She's nice mate, what height did she make? cheers mate, she's bang on 24tts, not too big and not too small which i like
  4. Mines Saluki x Bull Grey, my first lurcher, was a bit strong headed at first but that was probably due to my lack of experience but now I'm a bit wiser and where she's taught me more than i've taught her really she's turned out great for what i wanted, i may not work her to her absolute full potential but she's game for anything in front of her big, small or feathered, when fit she has the speed stamina and strength for whatever, ALWAYS gives 110% and turns her hand to whatever is asked of her.
  5. my bitch with just the normal lurcher collar from strong stuff No problems with it, does what it says on the tin so to speak. If you're looking for another type a nice leather one can be made by Harris and Watson, well they had nice ones when i was looking not sure if they're still about now but were a bit pricey i think!
  6. cheers mate, she's taken to ferreting quite well, can see her trying to use her brain which is quite funny to watch!
  7. wanted to get the ferret out for a little bit give it some exercise and give it a change from the run in the garden, put it down a couple of earths and bolted a few rabs for mine and a mates dogs not minding if they didnt catch just have a bit of fun.
  8. Lightning reflexes!, when me and lampinglad on here first started ferreting before we had lurchers, we heard the ferret had a rabbit in the earth, he somehow summoned almighty power into his right fist and punched through the ground and pulled out the rabbit with ferret attached
  9. seen a bloke on here who makes lure machines, cant remember his name sorry, anybody know him? wondering if he could get in contact with me at all interested in one in the next few weeks maybe? Thanks Ash

  11. havent been on in a while and got a couple of pics and vids earlier so thought might as well upload. my freezer packed up on me so had a load of ruined rabbit ect so got rid and this morning though I'd give the ferret a quick trip out to earn its brekky. just the dog and ferret didnt bother with nets as didnt plan on being out too long. found a nice earth on a bit of a bank with space for the rabbits to bolt and give the dog a run out and keep her on her toes as well. all in all only bolted 2, 1 got away and other one the dog nabbed in the entrance to a hole. Was nice to have some time ou
  12. thanks and although it was £35 by the time you add on the money i spent on ply for the base and a smaller grade mesh the cost soon went up haha, but always wanted a nice run so thought i thought why not!
  13. havent been on in a while so thought i'd do an update, my brilliant albino jill suddenly passed a few weeks ago (a ferret breeder close to me said it was due to cat flu, which i have never heard of in ferrets) but best ferret i've owned was a bit of a beast when she went to ground so was gutted to lose her. so bought another working jill (2 years old) 4 weeks ago and bought a silver kit (6weeks old) the other day. then the other day i saw a chicken coop and run for sale, so haggled the price down to £35 it now have converted it into a run and hutch run is 6ft x 3ft and coop/hutch is

  15. I've got one and she's fine on rabbits, not many get away, turns her hand to what i ask of her, got a lot of heart and determination and that's all i ask. I would say though some make quite a big size, mines 24tts and i think that's about right for most quarry, seen some about 28tts and i think for just rabs might be a bit big, but end of the day, get whatever you think you will be happy with really
