  1. they are if you check the post it says harris been flying for 12 weeks, so here are some photos of what he has caught which would have been caught before 1-2-2009 then posted on forum 10-2-2009.
  2. daylight hours seem to make birds start to moult thats why i dont bother to put mine up to moult untill end of march then fatten up so the bird will start its moult if its weight is kept down it will only moult out slowley.
  3. well done nice to see everything going well for you all the best with your future hawking silver fox
  4. Are you the silver fox from wales. I lost your No. phone me mate.

  5. jasper thanks for the coments all the best with the gos hawk breading this year.
  6. jasper well said and writen if you could still get passage or haggerd goses i dont think they could sit there and man it without first tacking 15 to 20% of its fat weight i think a lot of pepole think they are like dogs and they like beaing with you [not just for food] just put there weight up and try and fly them the only problem is they will bugger off and dont come back thats why you see alot of harris hawks lost and as you said how do people think a bird servives in the wild it might have to go days without eating [ ps you dont no where i can get a wooley coat for my harris only jo
  7. i have flown diffrent type of birds over the years and i havent had a bird that would sit there and let you man it unless its weight was reduced unless it was a imprint as someone has said i cant see a bird loosing 5 0unces in five days it must have had food in it when you weighed it. if you are worred about its weight just leave one chick with it then come away from it if it his hungery it will eat it but you will have a hard job to get a bird to feed of the fist at a high weight if you have flown other birds like you said you should know weigh it every day to chec

    BIKE HAWKING!

i can i thought you were car hawking at first but then i relised you couldent have been because the rabbitt was to close when the bird was slipped at it. mind you i can see you like to give your birds quarry a 50% chance to get away but when that bird was slipped at a rabbitt comming head on at the bird, it would have been giving it 95% to get away.ps not meney birds will catch a head on flight.
  9. well done sean at least you are giving your bird a varyity of different hunting outings
  10. my male never made a sound last season.but iheard him calling today and hes still 2 1/2 ounces over his flying weight not his hunting weight i think some harrises tend to get a strong bond with you tride him on a creance just in case it might be his weight he flew to me but very slow still neads weight taking down hope he dont start calling to much
