  1. well took the buzzard to vets on Fri, and everything is fine, she said id done a great job and it is fit for relese, she even wrote me a letter saying that its a wild take and i was looking after it till its relese, so i covered my arse there lol... its eyes and feet are fine, at the moment im feeding it up then think il relese it weds or thurs... so thats my good deed done for this year lol.. thanks for everyone who replyed...job done.. good job i never just knocked it on the head eh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. I will, im in the vets 15:20 today il get all that i need off em and in writing....
  3. Well i understand what all of you are saying, but being a falconer my self i will not knock this buzzard on the head unless i feel the need to do so..ie: it starts to deteriorate or can not be released back into the wild.. but things are changing with it, i got home from work yday and the buzzard had been eating the rabbit i left in its flyte so that is a good sign, plus its going to the vets later for a check up, so if all goes well il give it a week or so to feed it up then i will release it..
  4. no centers near me... and why knock it on the head its better now than when i found it?? ive not checked its keel bone yet didnt want to stress it out to much, il give it a day or so and if its still not eating il force feed it, and have another good check all over, if i can save it then great il release it, if it starts to go down hill il take it vets see what they say, but up till now i think its doing ok in its self?? does anyone know if its against the law to keep a wild bop??
  5. I have in one of my flytes a wild buzzard, i found it while out walking the dog, it tried to fly off but was very weak and hit the hedge, i noticed somthink was wrong with it so caught it up and took it home, kept it in a box over night (nice and dark) to calm it down, i manage to get a bit of water down with a syringe, and checked it over, it had a small cut to back of head, an eye was slightly closed, and a cut to in side of left leg, the back talon on left foot is curled up, couldnt see any marks by the talon, its sitting ok on bow perches and on a high ledge in flyte, the eye looks a lot b

Hi Gaz, look on ebay for a lamp mate i use an old one big lamp head not sure wat size it is and the lamp is 800,000 candle wat.... have you been out with ya mhh on lamp yet, they take to it so easy once hes caught a few then start slipping him on long flights other wise he will just be catching the rabbits for fun, mine now fly just outside the beam and at last minute turn in and wack the bunnys, make sure hes got a bell on and telem, and ive also made flyin jessies out of high viz it shines like made when the lamp is on, you can also take a hawk lamping at a higher weight than in the day time

Just an up date on my fhh, not that many bunnys about this yr so not put any threads up, but had a good nite out on the lamp with her last nite, it didnt start off to well, went on one bit of perrmision and only saw 4 rabbits, so off we went to an other bit of land and we must of seen 50+ rabbits, with Breeze taking 4 in fine style, i was slipping her on some long flights last nite it was wicked to watch, the catch of the night was the last one she flew it hard missed then got back up and gave chase then grabbed the back end, but ended up tummbling down a bank with it and lost grip, but she go
  18. Well went out last night for a bit of night time ferreting, all geared up ferrets ready, harris ready, off we went got to the mountain and it was blowing a gail, couldnt belive it there was no way we were letting the birds fly up there, had a bit of a walk round but it was just to bad, so back down closer to home and no wind at all, but no were to ferret cause of all the hedges, everythink was so over grown, so we ended up just lamping with the hawks, and they both had so really good flights, with my female taking two rabbits in fine style, one was about 300yrds or so flight and she nailed it,
  19. We dont use nets mate, let the bunnys bolt and set the harris hawks on them.....
  20. Cheers for all the replays, ive sorted my ferret collars out put some of that "high viz" stuff on them they look the bollocks LOL.... and ive always had bells on them, plus the birds have glow in the dark jessies on, carnt wait now, should be out tomoz night if the weather is ok, all the fields im doin are on a side of a mountain nothing else around so no chance of losing the ferrets plus there will be three of us going, two flying the birds and a lad doin the ferretin....
  21. Has anybody ever done a bit? im giving it a try in the week, im out lamping with the Hawks and going to try my hand at ferreting at night, any thoughts, would love to hear off people who have done this before.....Thanks Chris
