  5. hi go nightforce they are as baldy says built to take the knocks etc ,lense quality is great i think .baldy mentions the pm11 great scope but you will have to go from what im told .i may be wrong but they are 34 mil tubes so special mounts will be needed these are very expensive ,back to the nightforce ive got two at the moment and a third on its way with the as john galway says np2d ,by the way john that call master is doing the trick im running out of foxes to shoot great bit of kit though the batteries dont last long.if you can get a second hand one all the better but be carefull i f
  6. hi foxdropper yep its nice when your out and gets one or two ,it makes up for the misses you ocassionally get and the cold nights getting in and then having to clean the rifle and putting it back in the cabinate with out waking the mrs up etc i keeps most of the heads to give to our local taxidermist ,its a pity to waste em if he can use them to get good mounts and this guy is the best in the country t3

  9. foxdropper im from wales and work with my local aurthority pest control dept ,i would like to know who this firm is ? theres more to pest control than putting poison in boxes etc.though i could name a few major companies that dont even service there boxes correctly.i too like you do work for my shooting mostly mole control . glad to see some one got a few i blanked last time out but theres always next time .you like that .222 dont you great cal i aint used mine for ages now that i got the 22.250 but i wouldnt get rid of it for love nor money still like to know who the firm is though.
  10. mrlogic 243 great for dear and fox duel purpose ,but as the poll shows on the forrum the 22.250 is the most prefered, the trouble is that the 243 tends to throw the odd round off ,ive used both cals and the 22.250 is tops with out dowt on charlie .and i goes for accuracy .the 22.250 i use sako 75 varmint will put bullet on bullet at 100yds in perfect conditions with remi silver tips 50 grains. not knocking the other cals ,i have a .222 as well and theres only a 10% down side difference to the .223 but the 22.250 is in a different league all together . and i stick to my opinion that
  11. HIP HIP HORAY MRLOGIC 22.250 GREAT ROUND WHO CARES ABOUT A QUID A ROUND WELL WORTH IT IN MY VIEW WHY GO FOR .223 WHEN YOU CAN HAVE THE 22.250 BEST FOX CALL FOR SURE T3

  15. hello i am very supprised to hear there are problems with the tikka,s .i own one and must say its 100% never had a moments trouble .the gun was new and the trigger came to me set at about 4 pounds pull very hard ,the groups were quite large but i adjusted this to 2 pounds and after arounds 200 rounds the groups are clover leaf at 100yds .i also have a sako 75 22.250 in varmint form and this is the dogs danglies ,ive had a remington 700 sps and could not wait to get rid of it not a patch on sako in my eyes . good luck with your choice t3

  17. hello i have a finfire in heavy barrel form ,i have never had the problem that you mention .but they are very good and very accurate rifles ,i would snap it up if was you they are very difficult to find in that condition it took me ages to find a mint one ,and the guy i bought it from said when i met face to face that the phone did not stop ringing for it .if it does have a problem then it can be fixed some thing simple i suspect ,i also have a cz 452 synthetic but this does have ejection problems this does seem common from what i have heard but they are also very good guns. good lu
  18. hello tommy sorry i couldnt reply to your earlier pm ,trouble with computer go for sako optilocks .not cheap but very good .and by the way sako 75 top gun mate .went out for a shine earlier tonight saw 4 foxes got one at about 200 yds but it was a difficult shot windy and slight drizzel and the bloody thing was fidgety but caught him in the ribs .also missed one at about 250 yds . i think it was the vixen from the dog i had ,another was just sat watching us at about 1 hundred yards but was sat on the brow so no shot was on ,he will be there again . good luck with the rifle ,what cal

  20. hello foxhunter thank god thats over .good hunting fella
  21. deka yes my friend you are right every one has there opinions and i have mine .i respect every bodies opinion for sure ,who mentioned anything about a competition ? i just gave my view .isnt that what this site is about . as for using calls and new things im all for that too . but lets be fair and honest here we are talking center fire rifles here and i for one dont go looking for a 75 yards or closer fox to shoot .i have a gun that like most on here is capable of taking them much further than 100yds and i take more from a shot taken successfully at range than one at mentioned ranges a
  22. hello mr galloway the call master is working a treat .a few more to this years tally.those leica are good finders aint they a few different views on the range people like to take there foxes i stand by mine .it seems to me that a few on this site should be using a shotgun if they like that much of a challenge . i have no problems bringing them in close i do it for sport and control but i use my rifle to its and my capabilities .like you mr galloway i do take quite a few of mine at range . t3
  23. hi snap shot i agree mate lets take em out at some distance .lets be fair any one can take them off a bipod at to 100yds dont get me wrong i takes them close in or out wide but it does take a lot more skill to take them 200 plus yds i use a leica very good and small to boot any how who wants to shoot them at 100yds with a 22.250 we got to give them a chance 200 plus sounds good to me t3
  24. hello try norma 40 grain balistic tips ,great round in the right gun good luck
  25. hi bob unfortunately most authorities do offer a free rodent service to house holders rats are free to most people but not commercial properties mice are usually charged for but free if on certain benefits if you are interested in setting up i suggest you contact the npta {national pest technician association } these will get you going in the right direction ,get yourself public liability and a presentable van and build as you go but just remember safety is the priority ,its not that difficult i assure you i work along side my local city council and it does pay very well i assure you .
