I would recommend the dvd purdys progress aswell but its not easy to get hold of unless ya wanna pay top dollar online. another suggestion is a book by frank sheardown (well 2. but either will do ya) The Working Longdog or Lurcher Training. fairly easy to find and a far cry kinder on the wallet. ive just used The Working Longdog to train my 1st lurcher pup. 14 week old tomorrow. now has a decent recall just needs a bit of work when theres a distraction around, and got her retrieving the rabbit dummy and dropping it straight in my hand. It does say to not over do it though as they can easily lo

  9. Having lost my old boy not so long back. Got an 11 week old lurcher pup on saturday and ive never had to train one before. Always bought trained lurchers until now. A lad on here mentioned a dvd called purdys progress as a good way to start. Dont suppose anybody has a copy lying around that they wouldnt mind selling or know of a site where i might be able to purchase it. Thanks in advance folks Dan

  12. Hi Folks. Names Dan and im 22 years of age from Halifax, West Yorkshire. Having spent the last 2 days browsing the site as a guest ive finally got round to becoming a member. New to this so please bare with me lol! Been hunting since i can remember. My grandad introduced me to the world of ferreting at the young age of 8 back in 1997 - 98 and since then i caught the bug. wasnt introduced to hunting with lurchers until a few days after my 13th birthday when my old man bought me my very first lurcher and took me out not long after. only ever had 3 lurchers and all great in there own way.
