  1. no im not pissed although id like to get pissed after staying on this thred putting up with this bullshit now go back tomo and read the thred tydy and you will see that i said your greyhound will have jacked 45 secs and that pillock millet said that the greyhound would blitz the saluki and he would back any money so i said i would take his bet and i will the trouble with this site is there is so much bullshit put up by people looking to to argue and you sit back ignoring it for so long but when some one does respond then the jokers who by what they put up show theyre ignorance in theyre inexpe
  2. where in my post did i mention 45 seconds you clown he made a refernce which stated that the greyhound would blitz the saluki i say bullshit dont tell me about greyhounds because i trained em for years on the track and on the coursing field and trained em to break track records sprinting and put a dog into the semi finals of the last welsh derby which was won by instant ganbler the brother to balliniska band which won the english derby the same year and the litter brother linacre won the scottish derby the same year i was 22 yrs old at the time our dog was later found to have had a long term
  3. Thank's for you nice reply to what i think and i dont think it warrented me being called a first class idiot.. I dont have a greyhound but im sure if i could get hold of a fit 600yrd track dog that is pulling in good lap time's and winning race's against other greyhound's..would certainly leave any kind of running dog in the distance ..so in my eye's your post is from a first class idiot.. .. Millet in other words your backing out i can supply you with any amount of greyhounds you can take your pick of dozens of em put your greyhound on open land on hare surely thats the ultimate speed
  4. now this is the quote of a first class idiot now i will take you up on this bet for any money you want any time you want you can even nominate any greyhound you want i willsupply the saluki cross you just state the purse that will be matched and arrange the time and i will supply the land now i defy you to show me this super greyhound because i can assure you millet i will be there and the money as well you put it up now when and where the balls in your court
  5. i dont know where you get your info mate but theres not a greyhound in the world that would get near 50 mph and as for its a no brainer as you call it to any one thats had anything to do with running dogs ive been involved with dogs for over forty years and that includes open class greyhounds and coursing greyhounds . and pure salukis and lurchers i dont know why i bother to respond to any thread on here because you always get some pillock like your self make a reference to a dog getting close to 50 mph and the sarcky crack about the no brainer ive forgotten more about dogs im having some time
  6. the reason people dont race salukis is because salukis will cut across to cut the hare off they are thinkers and will not run around a track trailing a hare as for the faster the open class greyhound will have the edge for approx 800 yrds after that its dead on its feet and the saluki comes into its own but a lot of salukis will compete with the average grader especially a lot of the kizzy pharoh lines which is a very fast breed of saluki
  7. id have laid there for a week i wouldnt got up on account of the spasm in my back and the bike falling onto my knee plus the ongoing head aches just the same strokes they pull when they are provoking some poor drunk on his way home

  13. dont go on on the full moon is the best advice 90 per cent of your rabbits overal are caught on the hedge with the moon up your rabbits are straight in if you keep lamping your dog on light nights all its going to do is start easing up when its getting close to cover it wont catch nothing then
  14. i think theres been a huge change in dogs over the last 40 yrs . 30 to 40 yrs ago there was if i can explain it correctly but i will try then there was a type which had evolved it was very rare a pure bred was used in lurcher breeding it was lurcher to lurcher . and types had evolved according to what part of the country you lived in . they mostly belonged to travellers and a few working class families from town to town and kids did things differently in them days we found our own things to do the same as the adults did. so what ever we did was always out doors around the country side weather
  15. ive had lurchers 40 yrs now i remember my first lamping trip me and my mate pinched his grand dads battery of his old triumph motor bike and got an old car head lamp and held the lead on to the terminal on the back of the head light to put the light on and off
  16. if youd read the post correctly youd see its rabbits i referred to 30 a night as for hares hes on tape doing 3 out 3 on the plains on a boxing day being gambled . i dont think there was any arse licking in any replies what it was was an appreciation from some quarters of men ive never met but men who i know have walked the walk and owned dogs of equal qualities i sincerely hope there is better all rounders about brcause i then know that at least in some places the future of the lurcher is safe because what ive seen in the last 25 years is the demise in the standard of this great breed of dog
  17. theres plenty of top class all rounders out there a lot of people will argue the difference because they themselves have never seen a good dog .ive been lucky over the years because the people i have mixed with from a young age always had the best of lurchers and were the best of poachers day and night and believe me i know where ootys coming from weve probably walked similar paths my old dog duke is one of the best dogs ive ever seen and ive seen a few in my time in the day time this dog is top notch on any thing weather its marking hedges . holes a rabbit coming out of hedge forget it its de
  18. heres an home made one notice thr stones far better than any thing else
  19. theres allrounders out there and good uns as well. a lot of people post on here and just from reading whats put up one can tell they have limited if any experience of working with top class lurchers or the skills required to expose a dog to this type of work and achieve an exceptable standard . but they are out there
  20. my mate trevor who made the craic about the lettuce to the old bill ive had some exploits over the years with him . weve been chased all over the country and have laughed our heads off at one time we were catching a lot of rabbits together and always arguing about carrying them we had arranged to do this farm in a place called glasbury in wales it was rotten with rabbits as lot of farms were in them days any way trevor turns up at the house toots im waiting . on jumping in the car kelly is sat in there hes as strong as a bull kelly can carry the rabbits trevor said as i got in . hello ke
  21. ive used one on a regular basis for forty years i only ever use my home made one the art of using a catty is being able to find the quarry to shoot with it weather its walking up a lane and finding a rabbit sat tight in the butt of a hedge or walking out in fields and finding seats or shooting roosting birds in thre right hands they are lethal my old mate whos long dead now was the best i ever saw he could find em anywhere and once the lastic was stretched its eye was out . i never go out with out mine

  24. two hundred yards is nothing down the beam if the land is big enough most stuff dont start running until the dog is more or less on top of it or it hears it coming and if its blowing its got be up close to it to hear the dog
