  3. What did ya use there a kangoo hamer whats all the brick work on the side as in was the holes already there? its clay mate for first eight foot ,just looks like old brick then sand all the way after that ,still took some diggin though ,had some help from the local doggin lads ,which was much appriciated, but the right result at the end we all went home happy ,he a young dog and that was only his second try he kept diggin on but not clearing out as he went ,so must have been stuck good
  4. lost mine for three days no mark from locator ,no sound from dog thought he was dead too. dropped three 16 ft digs into bank and found him on last dig 16 ft down and 9 ft in at bottom ,put some drainage rods down with mk1 collar taped onto it ,found him he,d dug himself in tight not even a yap out of him ,fox was still a good way up tube so dont give up on him yet, better still get him out dead or alive

  8. HELLO KENTLAD , i think 2 dogs in the flat together youngest 16 month old is a recipe for dissaster anyway give it a few months and the lakey should sort the problem out for you ,for 2 dogs together is a big no no and can only end in one thing me persnally would get rid of the russell and get your lakey a bitch ,they should live together with no probs ,for its not worth taking a chance with a new born in the house ,and let your dogs know that they are at the bottom of the pecking order......imo...
  9. yeh got what you mean there ,thats that one sorted then ..cheers mate
  10. any one help on tying backing line on to fishing line, what sort of nott

  12. any advice on what flies to use at this time of year ,im fishing a brook with mainly trout and chubb in it ,only started fly fishing this year so any advice would be appricated ...thanks
  13. a pic of my bitch 19month old done very well this year after starting mid season ,and also probebly the best terrier ive had for bringing on ,she started fairly hard but has settled down and bays and will not get pushed about or let her game bully her, and the second is a dog i got off brian and is looking to be a good dog at 4 months old
  14. i back you up on that one ,as i spoke to him myself not long ago and spoke of the same dig it was under a big slab of limestone ,alot of his dogs are out on hunt service and all get work to a good standard and his dogs alone account for some foxs each year so why would he breed of shite ,i have a bitch that is nearly 2 and after starting her this year has done realy well and i am more than pleased with her ,my newest pup is 4 months and is as bold as they come and cant see there being any problems there either .the last dig was to a good dog fox that had bested 2 very good hard big terriers ,
  15. nice one chay, its good when things go as planned ,good luck in the future
  16. well done to you both ,looks like he took a bit of stick ,nice looking dog to ,is that the mk 3 long range collar or mk 3 three ,how do you rate it mate
  17. im ending on a high this year ,one of my bitches 16 months old is flying ,she,s found the last four times when out ,bolted 2 first time ,bolted 1 next time out ,dug 2 the last 2 times and has self entered ,she,s a hard little thing ,but has the sense to back up when she needs to ,until she see,s the daylight and then she laches on and stays on (just how i like them ) my other bitch who is same age is struggling badly ,she not realy wanting to go to ground ,other times she seems more intrested but can lose intrest in an instant its not looking good at all but will leave her to next year now
  18. couldnt agree more ,if someone,s home you,ll not keep him out or he be intrested at the least .still abit young yet (patiance).my 14 month bitch would not even look at a hole 2 month ago ,while the other same age ive had no problem ,the first bitch i spoke of was tryed last week and went straight to ground ,after about five mins bolted a dog fox ,most times the dogs right (not always lol)but if someones home he,ll go when he ,s ready IMO
  19. nice one tommy, looks like you had good day
  20. yeh if its a fox ,give it all 11 ..... only joking lads ,baldies spot on
  21. i don't think there's any doubt that they'll start very early if allowed but i don't recall any dog being ruined by holding it back. i agree with jdf ,i have a 13 month old nuttall bitch who is coming on heaps and bounds and would go without hesitation ,but in my apinion she is still not ready ,i,ll probably let her see something in a couple of months as she is still not fully mature or maybe leave her till next season ,she,s bin to ground were other dogs have checked first and there is no one home ,but i,ll no when she is ready and then hopfully i,ll get a lot of good years of her ,i will
  22. three,s the most ive had ,2 dogs and a vixen ,the black and tan did all the work ,he used to belong to me but was a bit to big for my needs ,a friend has him now .he was bred by orion very good dog to ,they dug to him 18ft, 3 weeks ago took them 11 hours and he never showed once .
