    Yip glad we all got that all sorted totally transparent. So we we get the whippets messured but it does not matter what size they are any way and If the owener says it is a whippet then it is a whippet Sounds fair enough.

    Agree 24 should do it ok Sometimes I would leave her 48 hrs but would nor bw far away and pop out to keep a wee check on the pair to make sure she is safe her swelling can take up tp 14 days to go back to normal . She may have a fanthom pregancy

    It can quite a while for the jills swelling to go down after being in with the hob you can be bluffed in to thinking he has not done the job sometimes up to a fortnight before she comes out of season

    Before starting to work them if you never have done this before recomend going out with someone that has been working ferrets you will find a locator and collar very useful. If the ferret is a mature hob best not to introduce a second hob-Jill until the rutting seaon has finished Agree with Bunny boiler give as much room as possible letting them out for exercise and handling them every day if only lifting them then setting them done again Avoid feeding pork chickin and rabbit being part of the main diet personal i feed what I can get in the summer pigeon crows etc

    I have ordered collars for all my dogs after Having a near miss with a shite collar I bought on E Bay breaking where the pop rivvets went in and the lurcher bolting across a busy road not going to happen again .

    I am tired of replacing collars on the whippets and lurcher most of the collars I have been buyng are from ebay never last I need to keep on checking them as tey break in around where the pop rivetts are Don't mind paying as long as they are made to last Anyone bought good stuff lately?

    Thanks for the help folks I will be keeping on with the tug of war with the dead bunny letting her win and have it boost her confidance unfortantly the ferreting is about to stop for us too many cubs in the burrows might get a few more nights lampiing before finishing for the season

    I have bred litters and found it can get out of control so easily you have to consider what you are going to feed all wee hungery mouths on 1 rabbit does not rear them and with the hunting season coming to an end think carefully buy a few ferret kits iI am sure there is a few guys on here will help you out it is less hasell and less expensive.

    Out last week had trouble pin-pointing the ferret when we got down the reason became clear a litter of cub rabbits the ferret was chasing and killing them Got 4 large rabbits 1 pregant Then another this week looks as if this is us finished for this season hopeful a lot of other folk that hunt the same ground will do the same give the wee burrgers a chance to build ther numbers up

    YAHOO GUYS SHE HAS DONE IT Got her working she has lifted two on the lamp and one bolted by ferrets . How we got her started I got a dummy the type the shooters use for spaniels teased her with it got her to retrive it then tied a bit string to it and dragged it while she chased the dummy letting her win and have it. Then I wrapped the dummy in a rabbit skin tied it on with cable ties done the same until I sure she was comtfortable with fur in her mouth . Then step to up to a dead rabbit getting her to grab and shake it when she was fired I brought the whippet into play she is bigger and

    Fed raw it has been out with the whippets took part in chasing and catching with the whippets fed it with raw with fur on the lure letting her and the whippets drag itafter a bit of teasing She ended up with half I'd Say your right Bird saying it is a game when she has one and stopped it her tail is wagging and paws like a kitten with a mouse I have spent a lot of time on her and is in the house and is one of the family Maybe I was spolit with the whippets which are two wicked wee f##kers and were doing the job from around 10 months this is my first lurcher pup I have brought up and and m
