  1. Went for a mooch yesturday and managed to pop these four off by the bank of the river found a nice supply of fresh watercress nice
  2. i read an artical a while ago in the shooting times saying about the large numbers of magpies and crows etc it said the reason we see such large numbers of the nowadays is because of the lack of gamekeepers and the ones we do have dont have time to be killing them.?

  5. a couple of months back i went to the hampshire county show and i went on the weirauch air gun shoot and i was speaking to one of the instructors she said they shoot targets at up to 100yrd with a legal limit air rifle ???? ive shot a bunnie at 68m myself with my .177 s410 i know this was an accurate range as i use a range finder my gun is zerod in at 50m and 2nd mildot down is 70m there has to be no wind but i know i can kill at this range as i tested the guns capability when i got it .
  6. i agree 100% .pheasant season isnt that far away see if there are any local shoots and ask if they need beaters thats a way of getting to know the farmer/gamekeeper and a good way to see how if any pests they have

I got home from work and got a call from the farmer about some magpies that have giving his polts grief ,so i popped over to see what the situation was as i know the farmers sons ushally shoot them with there shotguns . i turns out that there where a group of 3 magpies hanging around by 1 of the pheasant pens and they where stressing out the poults but the boys couldnt shoot them as the shot guns where too loud and would frighten the pheasants so iwas asked to shoot them . so i found a nice spot just outside the pheasant pen and waited after about 20 mins i heard the cackle of the magpie
  8. for some reason its illegal but taking photos is fine i take lots of photos of birds my lens and bipod are great

  11. Ive got a slightly chewed dog stick thats had the center drilled out and lead poured in and a small piece of the wood glued on the top and bottom . looks like a perfectly normal dog stick untill you feel the weight it will easily be tossed away if needs must

  14. well on sunday i was in the shed cleaning off the decoys and the cammo net when one of my neighbours called me over to her house so i popped over and she showed me 1 of the 3 bunnies she keeps as pets and asked me to have a look at it for her as the bunnie had a bad fly strike (maggots in the arse) and she asked if i would put him down. as 1 of the previous rabbits she had had the same problem and after £200 on vet bills the desission was made to put him down and he was not as bad as this 1 . i suggested she took him to the vets monday and asked them to put him down but she said she could

  16. woodchip ive seen one work it was used by my mate who brought it to work to show me he started it and within 45 seconds a flock of about 40 crows and jackdaws were going mad above us ,if i had my camera i would have had some good photos ive ordered one so i can give you a report in a week when i have tried it ok sounds cool let me know how you get on with it and let me knowhow the photos come out.

  18. Hi, Well the wife has decided she would like to keep some chickens, mainly for egg laying but also the odd one for the table. She has done some research into the various breeds etc and we have designed a coop and run which being a carpenter is my job to build!! The breeds she has short listed are, buff orpington, plymouth rock, rhode island red, buff sussex, welsummer. Can any of these be kept together happily?? they will have a raised coop and then a fairly large run. We are also happy for them to be out and about in the garden when we are around (we have a cat and a lurcher, so need

  24. this is exacly why i posted it because im in two minds over it as i could buy a nv kit for a bit more money and your right its not going to improve the way the gun preforms .
