  9. A book i read did say something about clearing and leaving . well its all cleared now so ill leave it a week and try again . Yes it was charlies first outing he has never been worked before i have had him 6 months the idea was to keep him to eat the rabbits i shoot but a bloke from the RAC (when my van broke down) said i should work him so i tried .

Well i desided not to put any pressure on myself and charlie today was all about getting him used to the holes . so i knew where a 4 hole warren was in soft earth so i cleared the area of all branches and broken twigs careful not to cave in any holes i set up my purse nets over all the holes and i took time to check for any others i didnt know about (read something about mouse size holes being rabbit escape holes) found 1 so i netted it . sat and waited for a little while making sure i had everything i needed should he lay up .   11. One good tip i found offer to help the farmer with any odd jobs you can do to repay him for the permission. you find your be woth your weight in gold.
  12. well im off tomorrow on my first days ferreting spent months getting my new gear sorted. a brand new mk1 ferred finder was told mk3 was no good have 20 nets box is all made and im ready to go just hope i can remember what my grandad used to do 22yrs ago as no one seems to ferret any where near me so looks like im teaching myself . Well charlie my polecat hob is eager to get those rabbits . ive been training him pulling rabbits ive shot down waste pipe getting him to chase them he seems to be doing realy well. i just would have liked to have spent time with someone with a lot more experi
