New CZ or second hand Sako quad
ajm1979 replied to mark a l's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Ive Got a CZ in .22lr and a quad in .17hmr, overall the feel and quality of the quad is far better than the cz, plus in the future you can change the barrels if required for a different calibre -
can you provide more details and pics?

nice one Tom, I'm gonna have to have one done when I get my first fox

Hi mate, probably want to give a bit more info on type of gun air rifle/rimfire/cf/pellet or bullet size etc and you might get a bit more help on range and distance for zero

Thanks lads, going to ask the owner who shoots with a 22-250 to put a few rounds through it and see what the groups are like, if they are ok will be snapping his hand off.

Hi all after some advice. Visited my gun shop today which is normally a weekly occurance since my FAC came through. Been looking for a Tikka t3 in .223 for foxes however I think they may be a bit out my price range right at the minute. Jimmy today pointed me to a Ruger m77 in 22-250 with harris bipod, sling and bushnell scope, he is going to screw cut it and fit a tidy second hand over barrel mod to it for £300?? Yes I know its an oldish gun however all I want for now is something to drop the odd fox and show bullet useage to my feo to try and speed up my ticket being open.Is it a bargain at t

Just back from meeting the farmer on this new permission. Turns out to be approx 300 acres, good for rabbits, pigeons fox and crows potentially, just before I leave he tells me he has some fields down by the river which are great for duck shooting come winter and he has three of his own ponds that he is quite happy to feed up with barley all winter for me to have the duck shooting on ...I'm one happy fella

spoke far too soon, lights flashing away again today looks like the dreaded switches will have to be changed

It was a risk to be honest taking it to an unknown, never recommended what I would call back street garage. Believe me I don't mind back street garage's as the main guy I use for all my vehicles is a small 2 man operation locally who is great normally with the fourtrak and even did quite a bit on my Bmw's but not the best with electrical bits so tried elsewhere and have possibly stumbled on a little gem of a garage. Have got him pricing a full full service for the Nav inc diff fluids etc

Do you a lot difference between at2's and road tyres on fuel economy? My Navara is horrendous on fuel
-
I changed the tyres on the Navara to Cooper Discoverer atr as it slid sideways on the first bit of snow on standard road tyres, absolutely brilliant with these on and not too noisy.

Got in the Navara on Monday and noticed the 4wd light Flashing. Had a search on google and apparently its a common fault. The three 4wd sensors/switches on the transfer case allow moisture to get in then fail...Bummer especially as the Fourtrak is off the road with a fuel problem and needing some welding for mot. After much searching the net ended up ringing Benfield Nissan. A short phone call later and my day had got worse, £ + Vat just to put on diagnostic machine, then if as suspected its was the sensors it would be £362 + vat...So a minimum of £550, One word gutted, No money for a .223

where are you from Gloop?
-
will do, just phoned firearms dept and its already passed for .22 so no complications.

Hi mate, just guns at the moment....thinking about getting into lurchers in the future -
Hi folks, just had a lovely phone call from a farmer with a rabbit problem from an unlikely source. I was bored on Monday at work so decided to knock up a short introduction letter with a small advert and start sending out to local farms using yellow pages and google, before anyone says it I wouldn't normally send stuff in the post as knocking on doors has got to be better but I simply don't have time due to work at the moment. Being honest I really didn't expect anything from it but thought that doing something was better than nothing. I only sent 30 on Monday and will do the same once a wee
