The only difference i'd say between Jones and Rooney is Jones is a young lad possibly trying to find his best position where as Rooney is known for club and country as a striker, and always has been a very good one at that.....i'm just not sure that putting him further back will be everyones cup of tea.......If i was a midfielder being left out because a striker who wasnt possibly playing his best upfront was given my position in midfield i'd be offski..... jamie carragher was always thought of as a striker as he went through the ranks,modeled himself on sharpe, ended up a world class defender

So what your saying is now that there are better players taking his forward position and he plays a decent ball in mid-field now and again he should get a place over say a world class mid-fielder next season? Or as a fan would you rather see a proper mid-fielder come in?... fergie tried it before with alan smith and it did pay off to a degree..........however rooneys a different kettle of fish altogether...........as the link between midfield and strikers..........he could be immense......... Seems to me he's getting to fat and slow and there looking for another position that suits

Do you watch much kids football Archie? My boy plays for the village kids team, so I do, and I see plenty of kids doing the theatrical dive after a minimum contact and then rolling round on the deck from week to week. Most don't but a lot do.. thats because they all idolise gareth bale............. Aye, you're probably right there! You'd love him to be English though, wouldn't ya?
