  3. I want help finding a country that allows you to hunt with dogs and bowhunting. Havn't a clue where to start. Thought about France but someone sent post and we could only bowhunt there not use sighthounds. Is there anyone out there who has had first hand knowledge of the hunting ways in other EU countries? or anyone who has already taken the big step and gone somewhere? I would really like to hear about it.
  4. has anybody got any experiences of Lurchers and Working terriers in France. I've heard they have digging clubs over there, does anyone know if this is right? If there are any French people or english people living in france perhaps they could enlighten me. What regions in France would suit this type of hunting.

  6. Just found a recipe for Bumper Bushytail, in a Sportsmans cook book. by Mrs E.M walker. 2 Squirrels soaked in salted water or vinegar and water for 24 hrs. Dry dip in flour. Put the squirrels in a monster pot! cover with water laced with tarragon vinegar. Simmer for 2 hours, then put diced onion, celery and carrot. Add salt, a bay leaf and a heaped teaspoon curry powder. cook for a further 2 more hours. meat will be dropping off bones. Fish out. Next drop in the sliced potatoes and bunch of parsley and a cupful of mushrooms. simmer for another half an hour. I have never tried thi
  7. My other favorite recipe with pheasant is "highland pheasant" whisky,apples and onions cooked real slow. (by the way folks I'm land rovers Mrs - he does the huntin and I do the cookin. ) Hope they don't mind me doin the cookin forum, its what I do best. Well second best)
  8. I'll try your delia smith sauce, they go very nicely with mashed potato and cheese sauce. or even eaten cold with a bit of tomato relish to dunk them in.
  9. If your kids won't eat pheasant try cutting the breast into thick strips or chunks, dip in flour, then dip in whisked egg. Make breadcrumbs add salt and pepper, pinch of mixed herbs or parsley. Roll the meat in breadcrumbs and shallow fry. If you tell them they are chicken mcnuggets they won't know the difference. Believe me I have got away with that in the past. (Land rovers wife got loads of tried and tested game recipes)
