  4. CS3 converts my Nikon NEF (RAW) files..I also have Nikons Picture project, which does limited basic adjustments, and I have Nikons Capture, which I havent used yet..
  5. Oh yes you have made a good choice, listen to people on here that have used the camera for help with the settings etc..Nikon glass is great gear, but expensive, Sigma can be a good substitute, and of course a little cheaper..Martin has mentioned a 70-300mm lense, good choice for all round stuff..not the fastest of lenses, F4 I think, but you WILL get good results..Something to F2 would of course be better, but very pricey, and maybe to work up to. What ever you get lense wise, hurry up and get clicking, take loads of pics..its the only way to get familiar with your gear..We look forward to se
  6. Yip that can be a drawback..I get 119 on a 4gb card if Im shooting 14Bit, if Im shooting at 12Bit I get 145..I print all my stuff to A3 in jpeg, excellent...Just have to take plenty of cards
  7. Great stuff Dawnb... I really like them I rarely shoot anything else but RAW+Fine jpeg these days, I play around with the jpeg, and the best I convert from RAW, My new camera also has the option to shoot in Tiff, and believe it or not these files are massive, I get less frames on my card than I do when shooting RAW+jpeg fine..
  8. Cheers Dawnb Up here in Northumberland..Wallington Hall.. There were plenty about that morning..over a dozen different individuals..I have never been to this particular place and not got a picture of some

  10. what do you and w/h think of the nikon d40x as somewhere to start in digi photography what would be a good lens for fast action sporting shots and how much would a good lens cost Might as well spend a little more and get the D80
  11. Cheers Kay, its a spotted woodpecker.. This might interest your creative side. Its 10 pictures taken on the same frame..first picture in focus, then the rest all out of focus to different degrees..Printed off it looks like a water colour, on the right paper and using pigment inks it is mint..well I think it is anyway.. and another
  12. Its a Nikon -400mm lense matie Ahh very nice i,ve got a 70-300 sigma for the canon and its just not quite enough. How far you reccon you were from the beasties, is it IS or just on the tripod etc. May have been about 30 feet from them..the lense has VR, Nikons version of IS, the shots were all taken hand held Hey matie..if you ARE from Morpeth, the pics were taken not far from you, at Duridge Bay countryside park, haven for cormorants and good shags

Every bitch Ive bred and ran was killing rabbits before it was a year old..Coronach Pennys Chieftain, probably the best modern day hare coursing deerhound won his first 32 dog stake at just under 16 months, and his second a few weeks later...yes some can be slow to mature, but not as slow as some would have us believe.. Any time you want to come up and see my puppies hon just pop up..not that I have any, but we could have a
