Thats a great bit of sport there must be plenty of bunnies about, there a bit on the short side around me but well done good picks.

  2. Anybody got ideas how to take it down to around 11-11.5? I cannot wind the allen bolt down under the back plate cos its bolted.

Would re-arranging the disc springs in the regulator make any difference or tightening the bolt which the disc springs sit under make a difference?

    Thanks,

    Rich.

If you go on one of the HW forums there is a section on there with pictures shows you how to do it (sorry cant rember which one). When you get the back plate off hhe power ajuster is there but there is a locking grub screw you have to remove before you can turn it down. Trigger off ect.

  3. Still not got it back shop has got the barrel back where it should be but the gun is still shooting 3" left with the scope on max right.

Going to replace the new mounts with some different make new ones and change scope just to make sure. I still think it badly made as I said in earlier post by eye only looking down the side of the guide rail there is much more modderator to the left which is where its shooting.

I must say how easy and a loose a fit the barrel fitted in to the action was a eye oppener it turns light finger tips only with ease, I would have thought that would have been a much tighter fit other wise when the grub screw is tight whats stopping barrel moving left or right if its not a good fit.

I dont know what to think, its not a good start to what is not a cheap rifle its soured it a bit for me. I hope to find out more some time tomorow.

  4. I have a brand new HW100, I got it set up and put it away work ect one month later I got it out to have a play. I had a ziess 2.5-10-52 spare so got that set on with new mounts, I always start shooting close (10m) as scope came off a 223. At 10m gun was shooting over 12" left and 10" low. Any way I very quickly ran out of ajustment best I could get was a 1" right and 2" low.

I have taken it back to shop I had it from and it turns out the barral was lose I have not got it back to test yet. I have been looking around on the net and this looks like a common problem with the 100. There are one or two people that say they have had a upgrade done and had to have a xtra grub screw fitted to hold barral in as it happened again.

Have any other Hw100s that you know off had anything like this happen?. I am thinking of doing a swap with this rifle for a Daystate air ranger any good or bad bits with these that you know? as starting like this spoils it a bit, When he was showing me the baral turning it was so easy to turn it was a finger tips only I think it should have been much tighter fit it was border line sloppy. Any thoughts?.

  5. Is it just me or did ferreting finish quite a while now!

    Its you

So your saying most people are are still at it and happy bolting baby rabbits, and digging like a JCB every bury they do. I have had better fun than that when ferreting. My heart sinks every year when I bolt a tiddler and wiping out next years sport. I know if its a pest control job then its got to be done but not in the name of sport.

  6. Hi folks,

My belt pack is just about goosed, and am thinking about a Lithium Ion 14AH battery, looks like a good deal from on here - anyone bought one from here? good or bad reviews, generally? I'm looking for one that will run a Lightforce for 3-4 hours.

Incidentally, for those interested, I've been using the laser genetics NV 350 for a few weeks now, and will write up a report as soon as I have time.

I will be intrested to hear what you think of 3X50 is it the sub zero one ?

  7. Thats not a bad write up im still not sure though I must say if I could go and see one working it would make it a lot easer to make my mind up. In the USA they do a 30 day money back its a pity they do not do that here I would order one to try. There has got to be some one out there that has one I will have to have a look to see where the nearest stockest is at least could have a chat and a look.

  8. The ND3x50 subzero isn't available in the UK yet - the standard ND3x50 is.

I started another post on this equipment last week, as I'd also like a scope mounted light.

Opinions seem to vary lots, however I've spoken to someone that's pretty experienced with NV equipment, and who has also used the ND3x50.

He reckons it's much better that Gen1 NV kit, but has the added benefit of being able to be used as a 'light' when looking for foxes.

What's clear is it is very powerful and the concept is sound, however insufficient reviews have been done to make an objective decision.

Predictably, folks who have spent £1000's on NV equipment, are anti this equipment, so I'm continuing to examine the benefits & dis-benefits.

So far, I'm leaning towards getting one !

Thats good info I must say I am thinking of importing one, I keep looking at the Led lights but the beam looks to have a lot of spread and eats the batteries. I dont want to go with NV if I can help it If you find out more please let us know Thanks

    OOPS

  11. I have been looking around at the Led lights for scope mount. I want to put it on a 22.250 so need a tight beam. I have a few Lightforce lamps but am looking to cut down on the size and neaten up the rifle and just make it a bit easer to handle. I started off looking at the Lazer ND3X50 subzero but am not sure if any good , some say it is and some say not. So I have had a look at the Led torches that are around. Idealy I want one that you can plug into a power pack so not eating batterys any ideas?. I dont mind paying if its good. Any help would be great cheers.

  12. I have the smae rifle, though cut down by 3 or 4 inch..its superb for accuracy and I

use a PES T12..wont rust, wont burn through like Aluminium and very quite..when you do choose a mod....dont leave it ob the rifle...take it off after use or the acidic condensate will eat into you barrell or crown in days.

another thumbs up for the PES. ive got one on my 22/250. cant fault it

I have used a few and I now have 2 wildcats work real well no probs after two years use . Got one on a 22.250 one on a 223 only clean every 50 or so shots not much to clean realy bit black but no build up of muck any where all in good kit.

  13. Shit customer service, one of their locators was 3 and a half foot out, used corectly, and tested afterwards by them once i sent it back, yes, it was out by 3 foot easy.

They said its only a guyide line, refused to replace, and i got the item back.

Needles to say its been the mk1 ever since.

But at 3 and a half foot off, its life or death isnt it, not to them, now morfe like money or not.

I even told them how they could improve on their sytems, but hey ho they didnt give a f**k.

On the other hand, the lamps are spot, on, only the lens, trigger and wiring, oh and the batteries have f****d up.

I had exactly the same thing a snootey woman said its only a guide any way I said I know but 3ft out on a 2ft dig is that as good as it gets ?. She then said after a while well you can send it back if you want but thats as good as it gets and theres nothing we can do to it , so I said in that case I want my money back, she said sorry take it up with your shop. My box was 2months old and it was first time out with it. They are crap.

  14. Use musician's microphone XLR male to female connectors; cheap to buy, wire/solder and connect/disconnect!

I find the ones from Deben work well not cheep but work well , I put one on the charger as well makes life easer. I think that lightforce have a lot of probs with the wireing because of the cig plug bad conection over heating the wireing.
