When I looked out the window this morning it was a wee bitty wild so I half expected Whin to phone and cancel, however he turned up and off we went, he had Meg with him and I took the collie cur Roxy and the whippet Cass, I was half expecting it to be a day of freezing your nuts off and not much bolting but it turned out to be a day to remember.
We stayed off the exposed hillsides and worked down " in de valleys " where it was more sheltered. The ferrets were working well and the rabbits were bolting quite quickly. We never netted much to be honest and if we did we were only doing half the holes so the dogs caught most. The whippet usually gets done by the collie cur Rox when it comes to bolters but she had her fair share as well today catching most of the long range bunnies, all three dogs done well, so a day which I thought was going to be miserable turned out grand.
Happy Hunting

well the day started well weather was good for the elavaition, we had a few whin hounds and my whippeteer ,first warren we got a bolter on a steep banking not realy suitable for, bolting to dogs the sport for kings , any way on we went mini picked up a good rabbit up hill , we moved on to another hilly bit we netted up, i took the whippet and whin with his dogs ,i got three rabbits rather sharply, i saw whin digging he got two ,we moved on took another few then he says put the dogs in car we shall , net some roadside holes
so on we went taking out time so not to miss any holes as the dogs were in car ,three bolted rapid then another two on another warren we were doing i misssed to in net whin say something , like youle no make a goalie,we took a few more ,we went to the highest part of the land got a few bolters , had agreat day dogs done well and less pesky rabbits , we got some pics , so all in all a good day on the high country
