  1. As far as a dog having voice goes.... I've taken it that a jagd should give voice similar to a hound when on track and above ground... Correct me if I'm wrong Jawn or Mosby... That's the part that would be hard for me to get used to because my dogs are silent when working above ground "bushing" style, my younger dog will give a few barks and engage game, my older dog is silent altogether, below my dogs will let out a few barks and engage, my older dog stays engaged without a peep, younger dog may bark and re engage. I'm not saying good or bad as far as voice on a jagd goes,I'm just saying its
  2. Nice info.... Can you expand on what you define as "hard"? I would guess everyone has a different definition of a truly "hard" terrier. I have zero experience with jagds but often think about getting one, to be honest from your review I'm not sure they sound that appealing, not sure I care for a dog with voice, the stubbornness sounds annoying, BUT their nose sounds amazing. Guess I will have to find out one day for myself. I picture a jagd more like a hound with the grittiness of a terrier and some of the places I hunt that could be useful. I've always heard good things about the jagd x's.
  3. really good looking... have they been hunted on any game! look nice and strong!
  4. This is my OLD Doug dog, hes 10 years old and still going strong.... tough little dog!!!
  5. anyone using the PiepsDSP? good/bad/ \ugly??? just looking for some honest opinions on it... thanks
  6. Nebo.... Check your pm's, I'm in utah also, lets get out for some terrier work sometime!
  7. Probably better for me and my dogs to stop hunting with this guy!
  8. Since you asked for pics ....here ya go... Yes they're all my dogs, not from google!
  9. What I WAS saying was in the topic of patts... Could there be a reason why a friends female keeps attacking my male? She's kinda nasty with other dogs in general. Is this a female thing? He owns 2 females and they don't get along with each other either! My point is shouldnt a proper working terrier be more interested in working rather then fighting other dogs. Btw what I was saying about my male pit bull is he is great with.... Other dogs, people and children... Just aggressive towards other animals... Which isn't the problem.
  10. What part doesn't make sense? I don't read anywhere where I said 1 minute they get along and the next minute they don't
  11. What's everyone's opinion on male terriers vs females.... As in how do they work, how are they in the house and with other dogs. I know a lot has to do with individual dogs but im sure the sex of the dog has something to do with it. I have my 2 male patterdales and love em... Great in the house, great with people and kids and work their asses off in the field! My female pit bull is an awesome dog but can be a huge !#@+@ with other strange dogs, my male pit bull is great with everything and anyone unless it's got fur, besides dogs he's great with dogs. But my buddy has 2 female pats and they do
  12. yes we try and get em out but they will only come down when we shoot em! Yes ive hunted deer and elk, there's lots of game out here! Just getting started with the terrier stuff.
  13. To prevent them getting tangled in something?
  14. Thanks... I take em out 3 or 4 times a week and "try" to get them some work. My older male has been on a few skunks by accident but he did his job well. They've treed some coons a handful of times, they're great ratters! We go out and check what I assume to be fox holes on a weekly basis, but nobody is home. They enter willingly but come back out. I don't have anyone in my area to go out with so its just trial and error on my part. Been more error then anything with how many damn skunks we find!
  15. The issue is with the people that keep these dogs not with the dogs themselves.... TOO MANY OF THE WRONG PEOPLE OWN THESE DOGS! (imo)
