my first recolections of hunting with lurchers was when i was about 5 years old, down the local fields at night with my uncle gaz and is scruffy looking lurcher peggy, the only thing that really sticks in my head from that night was a fox following us back up the field, to witch are gaz made me stand at the side of the old rugby club and told me to stay there and dont make a sound , the next thing i knew this masive fox was tareing past me with peggy on its tail ive never moved so fast i thought it was coming for me, really shit me up lol the fox slinked through the hedge and made its escape,

last year 1 of my dogs ran through the hedge on some local farm land, public right of way i might add, as she past through she let out a real yelp, when i cheched her she had a cut on her chest, not to bad , but i thought ile have a look in the hedge to see what caused it, to my horror the farmer had put 16" metal spike all along a run through the hedge, hangled and about 10" apart, i found 11 sets of these along the hedge rows witch i pulled out , a week later i saw the famer so i thought ide have a word, all he had to say was its my land and itle keep you c***s from coursing and if your d

since christmas the amount of fox,s were seeing is rediculouse, we do a lot of rabbit controle for the game keepers at boston spar and they are saying the dog foxes are coming in from allover looking for vixens, they have shot over 120 foxes since september and not even made a dent in there numbers, 1 night i counted 7 pairs and 8 single foxes in under 100 ectares of land this cant be normal to be over laping each others teratorys like this

im out tonight on my freinds pomision, were runing my deerhound x and his whippet theres some big fields to go at so hope the bunnys are sat far from the hedges

Longarm That sure is a stunning Lurcher which seems to have everthing nice tight feet, Deep and Broad chest with loads of heart room and a real keen look about her with power and elligance. after a long layup due to bad weather and been in season my bitch was ready for a nights lamping and last night conditions couldnt be any better, we hit the fields at 1am the ground was soft the wind was blowing a gale and there was a touch of rain so plenty of cloud cover from the moon PERFECT, the first bunny was taken out of the seat and the runs just kept getting better, after a couple of hours the tally was 5 to my bitch & 4 to my mates whippet, on the way back to the motor we picked up some eye shine in some rough grass and sliped my bitch it was a big bunny which was taken with

when the seasons finished do you cut the excersize down alot how much do you give them in summer alot less or still as much duering the summer i useally fly 1 of my hawks through the moult and do a fare bit of lamping in the horse fields with the hawk, so the dogs work load is probably halfed, i would say i do more road walking and mooching in the late afternoons

this is the amount of exersice my 4 year old deerhound x gets on average..... morning 10 minute walk round the block befor i go to work 6 days aweek afternoon 10/12 mile walk trot behind bike along the canal twice a week worked 2 sometimes 3 or 4 times a week, day or night some nights the dogs working very hard rested 3 days on average if shes had a hard week of work i dont bother with the bike work, all this is really is a average, extra days are given to rest after hard work & injury, this amount of work and exersice seem to keep her in tip top condition although some times i th
