you will be able to put your decoys anywere i allways put one of the decoys heads into the rabbit so it looks like its feeding and this works a treat. think how many times you see them at the side of roads eating road kill. just make sure that they cant see you. also if you engoy very early shooting and you have a rookery on your permition set up your decoys in the next feald before it gets light in the way i have said and ill garentee you will have a few in the bag before the sun has been up an hour. also try cutting the bottom of a can off and putting it about 2meters away from your decoys

Thats bad news .. on one can answer that question really.. its anyones quess why they have done this .. maybe best let nature deal with it .. still not nice to know they have eaten some of there young .. dont get to downhearted about it .. its happens to us all that is a good point i think i have worded it wrong. so here goes- has any one ever had a jill that has eaten one or two kits and not eaten the rest? thanks chris

hi Phantom i could not have shot the stote i like to see them when im out and about plus they look to much like my ferrets when i used to work in beverly i seen one chase a rabbit round the car park for 15 min and it killed it about 20 feet away from me then a bloke who worked with me scared it off so i threw his pactlunch in the bin. he started going mad so i carmly told him that what gave you the right to scare the stote away from its dinner so he said well its evil the poor rabbit so i said well poor you now you also have no dinner. it was this time of year to so it would more than

hi all i got a call from a farmer that i have not done any shooting for in two years saying can i come down and pop a few rabbits off on his land so i said yes. got all my gear out and set off when i got there there was about 15 rabbits sat out so i thourght this was going to be a good day. after talking to the farmer for 5 min i went down to my old snipping spot and had about a 10 min wate till the first few rabbits came out (well out of range)an hour later still no closer but i thourght ill give it an other hour as i new there is a warren closer than the ones they were coming out of. an

they are just fools pure and simple this country values the life of a fox, badger, or rabbit more than they do a human there was a peado who lived on my estate who admited messing with his 10 year old kid and he got 2 years so will probible serve 8 months then on the other side a few lads got busted digging badger and get 4 years. :wallbash: the law in this country is total stupidity. they have got there priorites all wrong wile they are running around mob handed looking for lads with lurchers who is looking for the smack heads who just beat up some old woman for £5 in change or the little

i would normaly say that it is to young but she is very mature for her age so i thourght i would give her a try and see how it went. its going well so far so im happy with her. ive also got her sister but she is a million miles of been ready to even show her a lamp. i have trained the both the same so it mad how one has matured so much and the other is like a 2 month old pup still but her time will come. im glad in a way realy as i can consentrate on one pup at a time.
-
on average how many times did you take your pups out lamping before they got there first rabbit? im just wandering as ive just started takeing my 7/8 month pup out lamping and she has been out 3 times so far and had a rabbit the last 2 times she went out.(and no they were not milky doe's) but the last pup i had must have taken 20 times out lamping before she got her 1st but when she did there was no stoping her. so just wandering how long you pups took to get there 11st and how they turned out. thanks chris.

Has anybody been saved by thier lurcher
hullhunter replied to kev2010's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
good thread this i allways wonderd if they would fight your corner if you were in trouble. -
i own a bullx and so dose both my brothers and my dad and they are all more than capable of takeing ALL quary day and night. thats why we run them also they will run all night 7 days a week. a few of my mates have got lurchers without bull in then and there pray drive is about 10% or the bulls also when we are on our way home after a long hard night my bullx is still raring to go when the other dogs cant be arsed.

i have never bated up for them but i have sniped them you just need to find the most active area (usaly were they are feeding)on your permition then just get stashed and keep an eye out you will soon seen them.or park your ass close to the drays at this time of year they are in and out all day. but remember you will be leaving young to starve to death.
