    Guard dogs

Not bad at all for the size of dog. Incidentally what size range do they run to? With Pit and Neo in the mix I could imagine anything from 60lbs to 130lbs?

    Guard dogs

Real nice type. How long do they live? Whats their health like Hips etc?

    Blue Blood Alapaha

Seems a bit potluck. At least a well bred one should be healthier!

I can see me going down the bandog route in the future. When I got my American bulldog 15 years ago they were already beginning to be breed them indiscriminately. When I was looking for a replacement there was just to many scatter bred ones to find the good stuff. Thats what led me to the Alapaha but I can see them going the same way, anywhere there is money to be made the messers follow and wreck the breed. Can I just ask the size and weight the bandog dogs and bitches throw? very curious about these types.

He is registered, parents passed breed suitability tests. I think he guards thats my point really he doesn't bark or show any aggression out and about or at home but I don't think he sees any threats and I just wondered if that was typical of the breed. if there like all bulldog breeds + american bulldog, they will have alot of health probs Your right there bird. I've looked at plenty of guarding breeds and the vast majority of them suffer with health problems of some sort. Fancied an Alaunt but like hens teeth around my way. I'm pleased with the dog in general I was just expecting a more full on temperament like HPR described. The ones I've seen have ranged from completely flat to prey driven only through to out and out c**ts that will do anyone or anything so you can't really pigeonhole them and day this is what they are like as a breed. How do they compare with the Bandogs temp and stability wise? I always fancied one of them I like laid back but guarding. Couldn't be dealing with a Mali or dutch herder but have a lot of respect for those that keep that type.

Can I ask you what you think of their working qualities? pm if you like (Sorry if I'm messing with your thread HPR) If you mean hunting type work I wouldn't bother but if you mean protection work some are ok probably on par with the American Bulldog but just like the AB for every good one out there there's also a lot of shit ones with pedigrees full of dogs that have done nothing apart from produce litter after litter. I meant protection/guarding. I've got a 16 month old one he is supposed to be bred out of decent dogs friendly to everyone and everything doesn't see anything as a threat appears really stable. Just wondered if thats the norm? I dont know anyone else with one. so was interested in your thoughts.

    Working Whippet Lines

Yes Nigel Wallbanks pups are KC reg. More important to me was they are raised indoors around his wife and kids so are well socialised as whippets can be pretty nervous mine is bomb proof compared to others I have seen. And as been said he does work them.

    Going Well !

I really like the look of this dog. Looks more like a guard dog than a running dog but is obviously capable, but wont attract the wrong sort of attention. Can I ask what his temperament is like? Does he guard/territorial?

    Catapults

I don't think they're easier, I know they are. But with all due respect I have far more experience than you so it's easier for me to make a comparison. I guess the proof is in the pudding. Had a black widow and a Pro Diablo when I was a younger. I Fancy something similar to the one above it looks very concealable!. How do people rate this type of catty? Obviously useful in an experts hands but what about a novice? or would I be better off with a wooden one?
