  1. a fox wouldnt run if it didnt want a chase.............

  2. a simple horse shoe pattern will be as good as anything to start with, use some if the shot birds as decoys. it could be a good idea to get together with your mate and buy some more decoying kit.
  3. keep at it mate, we went out on tuesday nite and shot 40 crows in 2 hours on cut grass. it took them 45 mins to get goin but it was frantic after that. forgot to mention, they go mad for a stuffed fox. they are hard to come by but if you can get one you'll be sorted! we dont have alot of crops up our way so decoying on the grass is the only way. keep at it and let us know how you get on!!!!!!!!!
  4. i do alot of crow decoying on cut hay/silage fields. plenty of decoys and a good hide is what you want, dont leave the hide too much either. iv never decoyed pigeons on it though. let me know how you get on!
  5. tbh mate there a pretty good cartridge, i know alot of lads who use them as a 'high bird or roost shooting' cartridge. you maybe just got a bad box? iv used them on driven pheasants and they dont half fold them up. im not saying there the best but just what iv found
  6. chokes arnt really an issue, iv tried all of my 5 chokes and i cant see a difference. pattern testing is a good idea, find a good cartridge and stick with it. saying that, iv shot pigeons, crows, rabbits etc with all kinds of cartridges from 5s right through to 9s. in my opinion its all about putting the shot in the right place ps im not trying to be an expert its just what as worked for me!!!!!!!!
  7. must shake off this hangover!

  8. Have you had good bags of crows to make up for things. 124 is our best day, but thats 2 of us. we normally say 40-60 in a day is pretty good. fresh cut silage fields or flattened barley seems to be best for us and a decent wind helps. i use about 20 decoys and 2 dead crows on floaters. it works for us but there clever buggers so youve gotta get stuck in when you can!!!!
  9. iv got the same problem mate, only time we make a decent bag is after harvest. i tend to do alot of crow decoying, theres always plenty of them about.
