The ferrets went out yesterday
NewBarnFerrets replied to NewBarnFerrets's topic in Ferrets & Ferreting
If we had dug we would have been known as "Burke & Hare" the famous grave robbers:blink: However..If I remember correctly Burke & Hare didn't always wait until the victims were dead! A here is one of the stars of the day... having a chew. & yes...2 of the 11 were young rabbits. -
Despite my season being over I talked myself into a pest control job for a local vicar. The rabbits were doing untold damage in & around the churchyard......& had even dug around some of the old graves! As it was a weekday I recruited the help of my father. Got to the church & set up. The bury was in a bank covered by a thin layer of bushes. I set up long nets either side of the bank & purse nets over the holes in the open ground.....some of the holes were under & around the headstones I had four ferrets on hand, but decided to only use two at a time & rota

I took my Jills to have the jab last year. The vet seemed very reluctant to handle them & asked me to hold them. The girls took their injections well, HOWEVER while doing the last injection the vet accidently injected himself He did laugh & said "Oh well at least I won't come into season"

My dog likes to try & clean mine with his tongue.....maybe stubby would like a go

I just wondered if you guys out there clean the little one's ears? And if so how? I use drops given to me by the vet & then wipe off any wax from the outside of the ear with one of the wifes round cotton wool make up removing pads Obviously I don't poke anything down inside the ear

How old is she? How long have you had her? Is she in a cage /avery on her own? How hard is she biting?....probably just playing, but that still hurts Try & give us some more info & keep handling her as much as you can. I'm sure some others on here will give you some helpful advice.

hatsan escort 3" semi auto 12g ????????????
NewBarnFerrets replied to lampingking's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
As the old saying goes "You get what you pay for". Well thats not always true.... yes quality comes at a higher price, however I do feel that the Hatsan Escort gives excellent value for money. I love mine, brilliant semi auto. Yes you can buy better, but as already stated when you pay Hatsan prices you don't have to wrap it up in cotton wool when out in the field. I was nearly put off buying one by a gun dealer (who didn't actually stock them!!)......I read all the reviews going & looked at the pros & cons & costs.....I'm glad I didn't just listen to one persons opinion. -
Looking to fill a .223 slot on my ticket. Budget of around £500 - £600. Seen a Remmy 700 sps in synthetic & stainless & a Tikka 595 synthetic with black barrel. Both nice & tidy. Which is the better rifle?? Or any other recommendations?

Got home late on Saturday night after an evening out with the lamp & rifle. Went to bed & couldn't sleep ......so I lay there & got my thinking head on & invented a handy free rimfire ammo holder. You may be reading this & thinking why didn't he spent the night in the pub, stagger home, jump in bed... wake up the Mrs for a little ...or leave her asleep & do the biz Anyway.......... Post your good idea' & tips here. ps - Maybe the owner of TicTac will come knocking at my door with a Royalty cheque when the sales of his mints rocket due to the demand of em

Put them in & supervise them for a short time. You will soon see if there is a problem Kits are usually ok....but not always!...if trouble breaks out & it appears to be a bit more than playful scrapping remove them, but keep re-introducing them every day & extend the visiting time each session. However I think that after the initial introduction & some playing they will all be asleep together.......job done!

NewBarnFerrets replied to NewBarnFerrets's topic in Gun's and Rifle's
Thanks for the comments lads. It is a nice gun & if I had deer on my FAC I would take it off the old boy! -
NOW SOLD .243 Parker Hale rifle, which he has owned since new...however he can't remember what year he bought it!! It's had little use & is in pretty good condition. There are a few small marks on the stock, but nothing worth mentioning. Not sure what model...but I bet someone will help me there ?? It's not screw cut & the scope is an Original 4 x 32 that wants dumping! Face to Face deal. You can try before you buy.

Go out tomorrow & cheer yourself up by buying a Harris. I only recently bought one myself but I'm well chuffed with it. I went to Sportsman Gun Centre & the Harris Bipods were on display next to cheaper versions but I wasn't even tempted!..........Harris or don't bother.
