  1. Just been out today mate, not really working my Lab but he had a good run about. He must have been in the cold water etc, he was trying to crap every other hour, very unusual for him. I think Waidmann could be right Cheers Davelad
  2. I was always taught to only shoot if safe to do so and never pull the trigger unless the bird is surrounded by plenty of blue! Enjoy mate
  3. Your right there, you only stay in the 1st 3 gears for a minute or two then you need to change again. I drive 30 miles daily in my L200 on the A1 and to sit at 70mph your hitting just over 3000 revs
  4. Surely it would depend on what tyres you have on, and what kind of driving you do Mike? I took a 90 shooting early in the season and found it a struggle getting all the gear in. Bought an L200 before my second shoot and it was much better, both on space and fuel. The defender had M/T tyres on and returned less than 30mpg, about 28/27mpg. My L200 is returning me about 32mpg and that is with the Grabber AT2's on. Davelad
  5. I appreciate everyone's thoughts on this, FTB - For the record I would not be doing it for cash. I would like another working animal. I'll not be letting him breed until he has a few seasons under his belt, maybe in 3-4 years providing he works well. Thanks again guys davelad
  6. Thanks for that lads, he has been quite easily trained. He is very head strong though. He responds well to the whistle and isn't phased by the gun. I'd never breed for financial gain or just because he has a few FTCH in his lines. I'd like to think I was a little a more responsible than that. Especially when you've just to pick a paper up and see the amount of homeless dogs etc. I would like a litter or two from him but for the right reasons, but to be honest, I'd not know where to start about putting him to stud. What do people get for it??? Cheers Davelad
  7. An 03 plate Corsa 1.0, lol, 11 cars later I'm driving an 02 plate L200
  8. Alright guys, I've got a Black Lab who is coming up 13 months, I've been approached by two shooters in the last month who have suggested I put him up to stud straight away. One lad even suggested I let him use my dog next month. My lab is KC registered and has a cracking pedigree, I'd like to keep that going and breed from him when he is about 2 years old. I was always under the impression Labs needed to be tested for their hips, eyes and elbows????? What would be a suitable age to have him tested etc??? Cheers DaveLad
  9. I'll vouch for alastair, I've used Milner Offroad for gear for my L200, they are great, so helpful!
  10. Looks good mate, I'm hoping to do similar with my 12 month old lab. He seems to be coming on ok. Good luck
  11. My little hound, he just turned 12 months this week. The photo was taken when he was 8 weeks
  12. I bought an 02/52 plate one about 6 months ago, the only bad thing I find is the mpg. Apart from that I've no problems with mine! Put bigger tyres on, and ifor williams cab for the dogs. In the 6 months of ownership its been around the fields putting feed out for the pheasants, carried 1/2 tonne corn in the back before the cab went on and pulled a trailer with a tonne on, no problems at all
  13. General Grabber AT2's are spot on, pulled me out of a sticky mess when I was shooting on Saturday. I've got them on my L200 Warrior
  14. Alright mate, I bought a 2002 L200 and my 1st investment was tyre's! I opted for the General Grabber AT2's, absolutely spot on
