  1. Nice fish mate. bigger than my pb pike. You had a fair bit of action aswell. Done a bit of live baiting last Saturday, on a small lake, had a few takes but couldnt make contact. Then my mate put a 9 inch Rudd on and had a take instantly, which I watched with my yellow polarised, the fish was about 14lb. It just kept swimming in circles, but would it feck try and turn the bait. After about 2 min my mate struck and pulled out of the bait. Watched the cheeky fecker wrestle with it then eat it. Funny old game..
  2. carpspace.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=4&p=141552 Didnt benson die about a year or two ago, they reckon it was down to banned/badly prepared particles. Check out her send off, scroll down for the pics
  3. Mixture of both. As been said, every hole is different. Ive been getting them in reverse the past few weeks, where I didnt have enough nets. They would bolt from the un netted holes and run into netted holes. I dont think it matters what way, as long as they dont snag, and can purse properly.
  4. Not really, just a bit of trotting and piking on the rivers round here, its mostly shallow chalk streams.
  5. That Two Tone was our biggest carp. The next biggest is only 57lb now, the parrot, I think. Im mostly gutted because Test valley was only £130 for the year, where as most places that hold big carp are expensive as feck to get on there and fish.
  6. Im sure I will Lumpy, just another big one dead. Been a funny year for it. Theres been a few big, old, fish die this year, all over the age of 30, all over the country. Is this gonna be a big decline in the last big english carp?
  7. Hey All. Joined Test valley angling club in september, and paid full price halfway through the season with my two mates, to have a crack at the big girl in Nutsey. Done a few nights through september. I was due to go to spain for a week on the 1st of october, and just as I was boarding the plane, my mate phoned me to say he had her in his net at 49.12, I was gutted, but pleased for him, hes broke his PB twice this season, with a previous of 33.6., hes doing well. So, today on the way back from ferreting I got a call to say she was dead, gutted is an understatement. The fish was an english
  8. Is it true it goes for £30 plus at the vets? I get mine off my mrs mate who works at the vets, I nearly fell off my perch when she asked £16 for it. If its that hard to get your hands on, I spose I got a deal.
  9. And what, only have two ferrets start of season? Its getting better, it followed 3 rabbits to the top on sunday. Gotta work with the materials I got Im afraid. Its only been out about 8 times and 3 of them was last season, plus its last seasons kit. I could do with a few extra ferrets tho- any going in hampshire anyone?
  10. The old bill prob didn't know what it was then. Nipper next to me said the are well illegal, it's not just because it blocks stuff, it's transmitting an illegal signal, that's how it works, your pirating. See, you can learn off these gimpy x-boxers.
  11. Dealextreme.com about £22 for a 15 meter radius. Only just heard about them now and there's a lad next to me knows all abou them. Mad world.
  12. lol. Do you remember nipper last year did it or was on about doing it. Bizarre.
  13. Ta lads, tape or marker pen it is then.
  14. Hey All. So, if like me, you have identical albino jills, one being a demon down the holes and the other not being as keen, I like to know whos where, and doing what, so Ive clipped the fur square on the end of my best one`s tail, which is fine if I can get a look of the back end, but how do you tell from the front? Throw in my albino hob and it gets a headache. Its just come to me, I could change the colour of the collars, but any other ideas- dying them pink is not an option lol...
  15. Yeah, I stumbled on them vids just before I went ferreting yesterday morning.. I`ll sit down and watch them when I get a chance mate.
  16. Off out the door ferreting.

  17. I bought a mk3m and two collars brand new, end of last season. Used it a couple of times, and I thought it was shite. making all sorts of fecking noise. Had it out 4 or 5 times this season and it seems to be working now, but unfortunatley the two digs Ive had have been for just a collar, my best jill has a knack of slipping them, I thought it was on tight enough but oh no..... Now that I know its working, Im fecking too scared to change the batteries in the collars incase they feck up.. Deben... mumble, grumble, discontent.
  18. I was thinking that myself Lee, considering how deep these holes are. Also, we hang game upto and past a week and still eat it.
  19. I've never experienced any of my ferrets stopping to chow on a rabbit while working, never mind a week old dead 'en. They are well fed before work and only have interest in live rabbits, other than ragging a fresh kill when fired up. I wouldn't be concerned but then perhaps I do things different to you? Dunno mate, now Im not poaching any more I have time to take in the surroundings and think about all sorts of questions I wouldnt normally bother with.
  20. They come out on their own - most of the time, you can also get locating gear to locate the ferret then dig it out.
  21. Cool. Ta lads. Will it be decayed enough in a week to put my ferrets off eating it, dont want them to have a feed and lay up, but that said, my ferrets have constant access to food so they shouldnt be too hungry when we go out any way.
  22. Hey All. What happens to a warren when you have a ferret kill under, but you cant retrieve the rabbit? I had a hob come up with claret on him and then he went back down before I could lift him, he was on the missing list for half hour, in which time I couldnt get a reading, these warrens are really deep on the side of a high bank, some of the holes are massive and drop 3 or 4 foot vertically, instantly, so that sorta told me digging wasnt an option, even if I had a mark. So, will the rabbits vacate till the bury stops stinking? Im doing this purely for pest control, so if it moves them into th
  23. Ta lads. Ever dependable. I think I could manage with them pic`s and the book is on my christmas list.
  24. Ive got some permission near you, Tytherly. Pretty easy to pick up mate. You just need a ferret and some nets- to get you started, the other stuff comes later. Left it a bit late to be looking for a ferret, you wanna get one early in the year so its mature enough to work come winter, gives you time to bond with it too. They make great pets if you put the time in, not that they are hard to keep. I would suggest using the air gun in the summer months when ferreting isnt really practical due to growing vegetation and nursing doe`s ect. The hard bit is getting your permission, Ive been doing it on
