  2. the hole point of the breed of the bull x is for the biger stuff exactly!
  3. ahh oh my god im not saying thay shudnt b used on rabbits, im saying for people that get them only for rabbits are mad!! as theres alot better rabbiting dogs out there and btw, i own a bullx my self. il be slippin her on rabbits also, but yea "red rats" will b the main ting shel be hunting
  4. Firstly, with a comment like, " bullx allways damage the rabbits with their rough mouth" that shows how much you really know about the a Bull X Lurcher, Secondly, A person might want to work their dog to a variety of Game as a lucher should be... And Thirdly, have you thought that people wouldn`t want to tell YOU about what they do with their dogs "loose Lips Sinks Ships" Mars.... well yes yes ok, u know the lot dont u...lol
  5. 12bore will solve the recall haha only jokeing mate, yea go bk to basics, give it treats [bANNED TEXT] she comes to a recall, try get her 2 retreive toys with u and give her plenty of fuss when she comes to u with a nice little treat, she should be a good 1 as she sounds mental keen!! best of luck with her mate
  6. very nice strong lookin puppy there mate all the best with the rats for next season
  7. What im trying to say is, theres much better rabbiting dogs out there, and of corse sum goin 2 b able to ratrive alive, most are hard mouthed frm my experience. So my argument aint that thay unable to do rabbits, my argument is, theses much better dogs 4 rabbits, and if thats all u hunt I wudnt go 4 a bullx.
  8. dont get me wrong, id slip on rabbits to get the dog fit ect... but some use them JUST for rabbits and wudnt dream of putting them on nothing els... do thay have them as there the "in thing" isit a fasion for them 2 have one or statement "look at my BULLx"??
  9. i cant understand why pepole are using bullx for rabbits and ferreting when there so so so much better x for rabbits.. ive got a bullx well she wont be going for the rabbits thats for sure, bullx allways damage the rabbits with there rough mouth....
  10. ive spoilt a dog doing it, and many around here have done 2... the advice i give is allways from experiance, not what ive been told.. but, each to there own, i allways give my opinion, u dnt have to listen to it..its there for the reading tho
  11. 2 my lurchers in the kennels, staff in my house
  12. no, string for me, loop it on 1 side with a peace of hose pipe for comfort haha
  13. it all depends on the x mate, some dogs ready earlyer than others, but for me, 6months is a bit young no matter what breed, no harm takin him/her out with another dog but keep on the lead....i wudnt slip mine till shes 9months, saluki grey whippet...and my bullx 12months... bcareful, u can ruine a dog very easy...
  14. should have also said in my post about the age..... my dog was 2 yrs old before he seen the fox ... i wouldnt personally start a dog till it was at least 18 month old and then only if i thought it was ready 2 is a perfect age for most, but some are able and willing at 15-18months also...but would not try any sooner than 15 months if its bigger than a rabbit. i start mine on the rabbits at 12months...
  15. bullx was just as quick as my grey/collie/whippet.....the grey/collie could turn better tho..and as for stamina....around the same but the bullx would recover alot quicker... but the bullx will do jobs that the collie/grey cant. but, when the collie grey decided he had enough....hed give up....hence why now ive sold him... so now for me...i wouldnt touch another collie/grey...thats just me! whippet saluki grey - rabbits bullx - everthing els, thats from my own experiance
  16. yea, it might want that fox 100%, if the dog is on its own and goes into it 50/50 it could get bitten and be put right off it! and if its a young one it will more than likely happen, make sure the dog is MENTALY up to the job, it will look alot older than it is...never for get that 2 many good dogs getting spoilt by running the to young and slipping them on things that thay are mentaly not ready for....
  17. i would show the ropes with another dog....but each to there own mate
  18. i agree there bulldog2 mate...i wudnt expect the little girl 2 do them all the time, now and again...thats why i have a bullx as well
  19. well all im saying is ive got a saluki grey whippet...and ill be expecting more than just rabbits, lets just put it like that
  20. i know a lot of bull x will take on anything single handed...
  21. my farmers market in town does them for £1.50 per tab, i cant find a cheaper place...
  22. huh??? hes the 1 giving it the abuse [bANNED TEXT] all i did was try and help him...im not rehomeing a mange cover lurcher with f****d legs....its as simple as that! there no need 2 give me abuse if the dog aint sutable for my needs, and anyway.... WE ALL GO THROU ROUGH TIMES head up, move on....simple
