  6. well said aint that true of all our lurchers? Ps: bet he aint ive saw foxes get killed with saluk crosses collie crosses beddie crosses bull crosses ,i had a big 3 eights five eights out of a tor of dartmoor half and half backto a pure greyhound sid would kill fox roe hare rabbit on any giving night , and i saw adeerhound cross which would killl afox and retreive it , or any othe qaurry etc , i think the higher percentage of terreir blood of the right sorts makes a fox killing lurcher ,bulll ,aredale ,wheaton, deerhoundy dogs usaly take to fox easy theirs no best cross but at the mo
  7. tried it at a local estate small burries that we marked by us in the daylight ,we used to take the ferret get a few rabbs with purse nets hide them and go and do what we came to do take a few roosters along next to the woods pens etc and sell the wares mid eighties ,on some warrens on a frosty moonlight night dogs wood catch them in the white grass etc a bit fun but no seruios stuff all the best, you can do it but you have to know the land well
  8. localy moonlight nights and frost are not ideal being out a walk many a times just for the exersise and if i can get close enough to pick the diner up ill have it or the dogs ,localy its not to clever best nights if i ve had to go on frosty nights have been pasture were the rabbs just take a second longer to move but on bowling green winter wheat a waste of time ,and for the usaul quarry, i pick the right nights and come back with the freezer topped up ,ive caught several in the moonlight but sometimes a feild away or more , as the dogs see well and hardly need the lamp etc , ive had some fun

  10. early nineteen ninties i was pest controling a good bit of land in the scottish borders , i had abig strong beardie half cross and a dog out of m chapmans bob and dslieghts katie both took thirty odds each and maybe if i had stayed from 8 till 8 rested them all night etc you could have took alot more but after twenty or thirty i got fed up and chased a hare or roe , i dont think its possible plus what eejit wants to kill a dog for ,their own greed on a rabbit sep timedown the borders 14 or 15 years back you could have filled a van load easy had 28 clappers of a feild on the right nights and a
  11. saw several hanckock bred dogs, had one in 89 a good bitch but hard work to train ,serously i would shy clear of him as he is a puppy peddler , there better back yard breeders about, ive saw afew collie crosses in my time, leave charltans and puppy peddlers to their own devices and wait and get a good honest line bred dog that has seen workers in their line for a few generaitions a dogs got to give you a few good seasons , by of only treid and tested all the best
  12. got a greyhound whippet bitch good little animal caught all sorts ,but have to run her sensibily ,no hard ground but she catches for fun rabbits etc she comes in at 23 to 24 ,sheel be a good brood bitch in yrs to come she is pretty fiery and doesnt mind a dash , etc all the best
