  1. im not really into fishing but me and my mate head over to angelsey a couple of times a year, had a few good catches I live on Angelsey, and there are a few good spots but it all depends on what you want to catch, or do you just want to fish, if you are intrested in fishing in Angelsey drop me a PM and i will send you my number, i could even get you a few prices of some local charter boats. cheers
  2. nice one, i live in north wales, me and my mate are thinking for going on a weekend trip somewhere to do a spot of fly fishing, crazy thing is my mates just had all his gear stolen to from his shed, but he just had a big fat payout from the insurance, do you have any web site address of anywhere round your area, cheers

  6. cheers folks yes was very happy as i thought she might be put off as the mallard was flapping like hell, but she was fine. well duck is on the menu tonight, i might let rouge have the meat off the legs , she how she does with todays training,
  7. well over the last few months ive stepped up the training with my cocker rouge, shes 7 months now, and over the last few months ive been working on her retrieving on land and water, she took to the water with in about 3 days, and also firing gun shot around her and her hunting skill is very good , she has a great nose, she can be very hot headed and can be a nightmare to control sometimes but she is still very young, well today is the 19th and 20th is the last duck shooting day,and ive not done much shooting at all this season, i was out with my lurcher walking the fields by may house
  8. pips a nice looking cocker, my cocker rouge is about 4 months in this pic, and about 6months in the one bellow, she about 7months old now, training a gundog is hard work as there so full of beans, and trying to control this energy can be a nightmare, ive just started to train my cocker , and of course the one i picked is mad as a hatter , ive just got her to stop on comand as i thow the dummy over her head and retive on comand, think the key is one step at a time, if you need any pointers pipcock, give me a shout i know what it feels like to be starting off, sorry to hijack the
  9. sounds about right andrea, your cocker is still young , as stated that you are going to get a bit of hassle with barking and crying, maybe i idea to inform the neighbours, i feel its better to have a working dog outside as they become use to the cold weather, and the last thing you want is going out 5am on a cold winters morning and have your cocker looking up at you shaking with cold at your feet, even before they had a retieve from water i would start feeding her only inside the kennel, and before long she will run to the kennel when you have her feeding bowl in your hand. good luck,

  11. hi, ive a 8 month old cocker bitch, and ive just introduced her to the shotgun from a distance, i dont think i will be shooting next to her until she ready, and you can put a time on that. but at about the age your cocker is i was shooting my air rifle around her from a distance at first then closer as she gets use to it, i started to shoot the air rifle then give her a retrive, and as the gun goes off the same time give her loads of praise, then maybe you could move onto a 410 at distance first all depends on how the dog progress, to move on a stage, at the moment am shooting the sho

  16. Staffie is not mine, I looked after for him for 2 weeks and realised why I love lurchers so much!!! He's a great little dog, but he never stops!!!! He will be worked i think his owner is wanting to get into it all i bet he will love working, but they can be a nightmare to stop onces there in working mode, its handy with lurcher they can switch it on and off when they want, will be nice to see what your jr x whippet turns out like good luck

  22. thats what i thought ive done plenty of road walking with her the last 2 weeks and she had plenty of free running, it must of paid off, if you could of seen her 3 weeks ago, you wouldnt of thought it was the same dog for fitness, it shows if your willing to put the time into fitness you can turn things round in 3 weeks. thanks
  23. well big smiles around, went out with my son tonight, we where out for 1 hour, it was a bit wet, and no wind at all, and the dog did really well, am so pleased with her 4 out of 5, all good catches my son was made up, he slipped the dog on all 5 slips, and really injoyed that, and he necked his first rabbit, what more can you ask for a night lamping with your 9 year old son and a good sport with the dog now just got to show him how the gut and skin them
