borrow a mates that has dogs the same colour ? -
clench your hand into a fist and put it into the hutch if she trys to bite let her bite your knuckle push it into her mouth not to the extent you hurt her but to the extent its uncomfortable they will soon stop iv never had this trouble with mine as i handle them from the day they open there eyes but iv had some wicked unhandled adults and if your not clued up they can cause you a bit damage but if they do bite push into them dont pull against them .

been regulalry catching them along the coast , Id have to starve my lot for a week before they would eat them though , If times were hard yes id feed them but realisticaly times aint that hard so dont find the need to even take them back to the motor .

make your own drop traps its easy enough dig a hole on a fence line thats in regular use make a flap and a tunnel we had wooden ones as kids then mesh the rest of the fence of let the rabbits get used to using it once you know there using it take the weight of an bobs your uncle we used to get large numbers doing this . You can buy stainless steel ones now to.

In fine nick as usual dfk pups look well what did you cover her with this mating your own dog ?

i rarely talk to my dogs while ferreting its all hand signals pointing for direction stop etc . As stated alot of saluki based lurchers choose not to listen in my experience most grow out of this with the proper training . Surely youl know if the pups responding to different tones get a sqeeker toy a whistlle whatevers lyin around and see whether you get any sort of response .

For Sale 3/4 lakland terrier puppys..
fresh earth replied to Keeper Bill's topic in Working Dogs & Livestock
The dog in my avatar is worked regularly on rabbits and has taken bags of 30+ on her own both with ferrets and on the lamp she also races in the light weights class's she does look a showy type but is infact to small to be succesfull in a ring and hasnt ever even stood infront of a judge at a show or a game fair none of my dogs ever have . Here she is last season piks prove nothing though i never said the dog was any world beater. Back to the topic no just because there bred by a keeper dont mean there better than some of the genuinely worked terriers some keep but all in all most keepers -
Trying to find the right breeder
fresh earth replied to br4568hldrs's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Personaly i would meet people who own and breed the type your looking for anyone who is happy to take you out with there dogs obviously works them so its a start secondly see both parents not just the bitch and deff dont touch a pup thats parents you cant see. Go to someone who breeds what your looking for dont settle for what anyone else tells you at the end of the day youl be training the pup and spending alot of years with the dog. I sertainly wouldnt buy a pup because i was told storys about its ancestory . As i say any genuine breeder who works there dogs regularly will be happy to take y -

Fair price for keeper bred pups with docking certificates at least you know the parents will have seen something not like half the crap about , Id rather pay 250 from working stock as take a chance on something for half the price with a tail . -

mate if u want her looked at by a running dog vet give me a shout he is dirt cheap and races greyhounds so knows his dogs . At the club i race there is an open class dog who broke his leg as a youngster and he made a full recovery and has won many open class finals throughout britain. I personaly would rest the pup litraly do not let her run in anyway shape of form for at least 6 weeks more if possible then slowly walk her short amounts plenty decent grub and as stated her age will hep a hell of alot . I would have thought it wouldnt be a serious break as if it was they would have known straig

if i read the other post [bANNED TEXT] and you want to breed in the future i recon youv went the wrong way round and personaly i wouldnt put a wolf hound deerhound of potentialy 30 odd inches over a bullterrier that will make about 22" max it would have been far more sensable to breed a bullterrier dog to the wolfhound greyhound if it were a bitch . Nice pups but your a few year away from even thinking about breeding yet

i wasnt having a go about joball iv made up my diferences with him and hes a decent enough bloke as far as you can tell over the internet . I also said a long time ago who i was and he actualy had this same sort of chat a long time ago so i said who i was long ago ? im not on here selling and never have been any pup someone has from me on here was bought through other means with absolutly no connection with this site .

paula has a dog pup out my 1st litter she also owns the sire ?? what she does with her dogs is nothing to do with me ?? fiona is my partner as in i live with her ??? we have 5 whippets 2 pups and 3 adults ones been bred ? the other dogs under my name on the archives were the dog i just bred from who i own but is kept and worked by a freind now and specificaly will not line another bitch as i dont want everyone running about with the same lines i do hence using a diff dog ? the blue bitch pup is actualy the bitch veedublee has from the litter and obviously doesnt belong to me now . as i say the

the whippet archives is a pedigree database for instance if i was interested in a dog and new its parents i could look up the breeding on line maybe to most this wouldnt be important but if your involved in the breed seriously it does. Bottom line is i have only ever bred from a bitch i have had 5 years so in all fairness how can i be a peddler it dont take rocket science to realise if i had 4 adult bitchs and realy wanted to make money id have bred all 4 aswel as my good bitch ?? i upload the details of my pups its upto the new owner to update and its nice to see how my pups are turning out .
-
i already said i was an idiot as a youngster . i own 2 pups from champion racing stock and my black bitch of 5 years whom is the only bitch i bred as for cornstalk shinning lite i sold her 18 months ago and never bred her the bitch in my avatar is gonsales fairy cake i got from another member . I have never lied about who i was on here in a long time iv no intrest in the bullshit that goes on anymore . I baught a bitch from a well known kennel and i can tell you id never see a dog in my kennel in the state the bitch was in never mind sell one she will come a good bitch with time . Anyway as fa

dams 19" and races at just over 21lb sits comfortably at 22lb over the winter and this is the weight i work her , Sire was 20.5" and was running at about 30lb i never raced him and he is now just a pet . pups should make between 17 and 19" and between 16 and 22lb (bitchs) the bitchs from a few years back are only 17 and 17.5" and racing in the light weight catigorie and work over the winter at about 20lb . The bitch iv kept is about 13" just now and i find they dont grow much in hieght from 8 months or so old mate . kris

sport on skycat i dont alow mine to play tug of war etc i tend not to let them play with toys around the other dogs all mine retrieve live to hand and i always teach them not to take quarry from each other as soon as one of mine lifts game the others return to there job as its no good following a dog round a field for a rabbit or the others being to busy playing tug of war to nail the next bolter .

dont worry about it mate her sisters are starting to fall out they fall out at different stages and if she has been chewing at anything hard it will encourage them to come out so wouldnt worry about it . Hows she coming on now iv just started walking her sister a bit more now i dont do much other than let them run around playing at this age regards kris

Cheers for all the possitive feed back folks. Haha moll the rug should be fine fingers crossed i only have them in in the evenings for a while to get them socialised properly and build a bond and so far she is quite a quiet calm pup . All that will change though over the next fortnight and she will soon enough be bounding of the walls . She is worlds away from the bitch iv kept out my own litter who is now 13 weeks and bannanas is an under statement this we lass seems more laid back and happy to lay and have a cuddle she is 8 weeks tomorrow and is race bred through and through so will be a das
