  1. The local pound most likely as per seen it over and over again with silly mixes.Sry mate but cant afford to take your dog to the vet dont have it simple as that.I ALWAYS find the money to have my dogs sorted if it needs done. You now have right up to a week before a bitch whelps to get the jag to terminate the pregnancy and i help rescue dogs and get really sick of seeing these mistakes happening I had a bitch and a dog living together and found a crate and soem dog gates proved useful for when a bitch is in season. Hmmmm. What a negative and self-righteous post. I've been heavilly
  2. Think you will find that most hunting MEN use the blitz; it’s a man’s lamp.
  3. We have a philosopher amoung our mist , true words.
  4. I can see your point, but.... were we to not discuss such issue's it would appear to those that could use this against us that we are hiding something, dont you agree.
  5. A true example, one of the best spaniels I ever owned, a kennel dog ,12 years old.If I took it out working it couldn't walk for 3 days, if I kept it in the house it peed any where it liked, mainly on furniture, it would actually jump up on to the sofa for a piss. If I left it in the kennel when I took the other dogs out it would scream like a banshee and rip everything it could to bits. It had one last day out, while it sat contented beside me looking into the distance, bang ! the lights went out. I had tears in my eyes all the way home, but that dog was better off dead. Very honest
  6. Has he seen anything yet, how old is he and what x is in him
  7. I agree totally that hunt kennels have no option but to PTS, also I am sure that some lads have to be practical when it comes too been dogged out, that’s life.
  8. I love this pic, the pike reflects in the water and the dark back ground brings the angler to the fore. Hope ye like it.
  9. Think it may be curlew. Here are both birds. Crurlew bottom picture, (I think)
  10. Welcome to the club, think we all went through this at some stage with our pup's, as SK said leave off for awhile, it will come good in the end, they always do.
  11. i get what you are sayin but my bitch is the first working dog i have from day one and i have been thought my share in shit dogs but she has learnt me a lot about hunting so she will stay with me untill i can see she is in pain and the time is right I've nothing against anyone keeping them on mate, but then I've nothing against anyone that chooses not to. Mind you dont fall off the fence
  12. Moved bitch into her whelping box today, poor thing is not able to get around.

  13. Hey CG, I heard that give you a samdwich and you anyones tongue2: Looking forward to meeting you CG, yes Carl I am heading down on sunday, looking forward to seeing the bitch.

  15. Cant wait for the kids to go back to school, are these the same dogs that you did admit bark at charlie when they catch up on them, dreamon son.
  16. Looking forward to seeing that hairy one work Carl, Pa hope your patts do the job for you and that many a charlie will not rest, CG would love to hear how the lurcher comes on, hope to see ya all at the show.
  17. Now that the season is almost upon us I would like to know what expectations you may have regarding your new blood for the season, and any pics would be nice, I don’t have any pups to bring on this year, but am looking forward to bagging as many bunnies as I can, plus the odd Charlie.
  18. Why dont you ask for any members in your area to bring you out for a shine, best way to try your dog, I would also like to extend that invite to any young members from this side of the water, feel free to ask me.
  19. NOT A BAD THREAD FOR ONE THAT WAS DONE BEFORE, AND WELL DONE TO BUTTERMILK FOR THE OFFER.
  20. I think you have to be realistic when it comes to dogs that have come to the end of their working days, not everyone can afford them the luxury of the paddock or sofa and yes I totally agree with your views regarding this issue; it’s a very touchy subject. On one hand we have a dog that has enriched our lives and has become part of the family, I think that only the owner will know how best to handle this situation when it arises, and I am sure that he will have the dogs best interest at heart.
  21. Would like to think that they are looked after when they reach the age, but also understand that some may have to be PTS, thats life.
