Terrier mans tools when out in the field
Irish Lurcher replied to danny300's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
Great thread Danny, some nice in-put from the lads, what I would like to know is when ye were heading out on a dig, did anyone ever forget the locator, and if so how did ye cope with finding the dog. I bet nobody will admit to this , just on a different note I recall driving to Cavan one morning only to discover we had left the pike bait behind, so it does happen in all our outdoor work, honestly what would ye do if the drive home was two hours to get the locator, I am sure the men back in the day had their own way of finding the dog without locators... -

Terrier mans tools when out in the field
Irish Lurcher replied to danny300's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
There used to be an auld lad that lived beside me bout 15 years ago, auld Paddy Feeney was his name, few of the irish lads know him well, I remember when I first met him with his terriers walking through the lanes at our house he would often ask me over for a dig, not that he did any digging, lol, smart auld fcuker he was .But he always took a sack with him, also on his list would be a wee bottle of the hard stuff, couple of drops of that and ya would dig for fun. Not many of dem auld lads left around today. -

Lads it a FREE FREE FREE draw Draw will take place when I receive the first fourty names or failing that the winner will be picked on the 20th Dec. -
Just because this is Christmas and its the season of good-will and all that crap, its time one of ye lads got an early present. A friend of mine makes mirrors to suit any sport, and he has kindly agreed to give me a Terrier Mirror to raffle of free to members on the site. As you can see this is just a sample of his work, you can replace the lamps with crossed shovels and just have terriers instead of hounds. The writing can be whatever you want, so really in a shell this mirror will be made for just as you want it. After the draw if anyone is interested in any of the other work drop me

Irish Lurcher replied to lurchers ireland's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
just buy the origanal ya miserable fecker lol Thats what I ment ya prick  drove through ballyfermot tonight in the taxi and seen three sober people, must be a record -
It could have gone pear shaped in a big way. So with that in mind and the negative effect it could have had on WTFI, I along with danny decided to ask for the thread to be pulled, for the sake of what could have been said and done, was not worth it, too many lads had to much info on each other and that can be a bad thing, so I think it was for the best to save face and move forward for the betterment of all involved and the WTFI. It sometimes pays to take a step back and access the damage that could have been caused. Nobody backed down from each other, no points were scored, common sense p
