  2. Socks thanks for that. :thumbs-up: I was told by macker that chicken was a good meal for my bitch, so I started feeding her this, then the guy who sold me the dog was on the phone tonight and thats when I told him I was feeding chicken, I hope he is not on this site the prick.
  3. While I am new to this game I like to think I give my working lurcher the best food that I can afford. I feed her on raw chicken with sardines and the odd egg, some veg. I am now told by a guy who works lurchers that the raw chicken will do her more damage if I continue to feed it to her. I was told some months ago that chicken is one of the best feeds a lurcher can have, I am a wee bit confussed here, I am now told that the chicken bones will end up ripping the inside of her, can any of you lurcher people please inform me of the cons and pros of feeding raw chicken?

  5. Great replys, some of you sound like you are in pain Ossie I know the feeling. Does anyone know why we make this noises, I was on my own last night and I made an effort to say nowth and she still went like the clappers after the bunny? So the sound had no effect on her at all.

  10. Lads I was out in the field last night with my bitch, still bright enough to see. Up went a rabbit and away went my bitch. She lost it in the ditch, good. But during the chase I was totally unaware of the sound that was emanating from my mouth. A bemused guy popped in from the next field to see what the commotion was. He said I sounded like a tribe of Zulus on the war path, just wondering am I alone on this, or do you guys made strange noises when you dog are in pursuit of quarry. If so lets hear it? Apparently I sounded like this, yayayaya shhhhh yayayaya shshhhhhhhhhhh.

  19. Wilf As this was my first season with my Lurcher I really did’en knows what to expect, from him or me. I have never trained a lurcher before so this was a learning curve for me and dog. I now know that I have more of an understanding of how a dog thinks, also I think I am more relaxed since the dog came on the set. I found that I have the skills that are required to train a lurcher to the standard where he won’t cause a nonsense when off the lead, he retrieves to hand, I think I have benefited from from his training also, I am now more in control of things around me, due to th
