  3. We have recently been blest with a lovery litter of seven pups, but yesterday morning my bitch stopped eating so this morning my mrs,s took her down the vets. The vet said she would not be able to feed the litter because she hads picked up a stomach infection and even thou it,s not a bad one it could posabley pass to the pups. What I need is some advice on how much the pups should be taking each time we feed them. I know we have to feed them every 2-3 hours for the next week and then drop it down to every 4 after that but any advice on this situation would be of extreem help as this will be ou

  9. Hi all, just wondering if there was anything i can do to help my bitch in the first few days of her giving birth like suplements or additions to her food. Also in the past I have only ever brougth my lurchers after they have been proven by others but this time i get to choose the pic of the litter, so any advice on making the right choice would be a great help. Here are the sire and dam. Sire is Collie/Greyhound 2ndx and the dam is Whippet x Collie/Greyhound. bare in mind I would be looking for a good alrounder.
  10. I owen a 15 month old colli/grayhound 2ndx who has a slight feathering from his shoulder down his back and a coat as smoth as you like. He is a lovely dog and has already showen great potential. I carnt wait to bring him on next season. His name is "Beau". Beau is the one on the right the other dog is "silk" she is whippet x colli/greyhound and is due pups soon.
  11. both my dogs are colli x's and my mate has got bull x's. the only differance ive noticed is that it takes him a lot more road work out of season to keep his dog fit and if he lets his dogs sit idle out of season it takes more time to get them upto speed, other than that theirs not mutch in it. Also his take a little bit more time to recover from exertion ( excuse the spelling )proberly genetical becuse bulls have small lung cerpaserty but this only comes into play after a very long nigth out.

  21. I was told once that if a bitch had'nt had a litter by four it was proberly best not breeding from her. something to do with her pelvis fuseing together.
  22. I have been wondering for a while now, what would be the best stud for my bitch SILK. She is 2 1/2 years old and a absolutly wonderful lamping bitch. She is a 1/2 whippet 1/4 collie 1/4 grayhound and stands at 22.5 inches. I personally are not that keen on bull x's, but would consider one for this mating, as long as the dogs make-up contained 50% grayhound. Also i would prefure him to be black with white markings. If you have any suggestion's or know of such a dog please PM my account. Here are some pictures, suggestion's would be welcome on what type of cross to use?
  23. i've been thinkin about startin my dogs on raw meat too.I've been reading a book called the house lurcher by jackie drakeford and she covers a raw meat diet but she also feeds raw vegetables and fruit. It's a good read.
  24. Where do you think it comes from and can it spred to domesticated rabbits.ie is it air born as well as transmited. some people say that it is put down as in given to a caught ,rabbit then released.the disease is spread by flies, fleas and i would also think sheep ticks,it is also passed on when a healthy rabbit comes into contact with a mixy rabbit and yes it can be passed on to pet rabbits if a pet rabbit court mixy is ther a cure and how come ferrets dont catch it.
