Sorry, but I'm going to disagree! If a pup is seriously overweight then its growing joints and bones can be under too much pressure. Yes, they need to be well covered and not scrawny, but not fat. Some pups are really greedy and will eat until they can't move: they shouldn't look like bloated balloons after a meal, which is why it is better to feed pups little and often when they are young: that way they don't feel hungry for too long, then guts themselves when you do feed them.
If you are worried if your pup is overweight then stick a couple of photos up for us to see.

It's jus mine eats double what my whippet cross and she's 18 months old he's 4 months! He is bigger than her mind!
It's jus I see some pups his age with their ribs showing already and I think surely thats not right. but maybe I'm over feeding mine a touch???

I bloody hope so because as I see it it's our only chance of getting this ban chucked out!! I will never trust a politician but I WILL vote Conservative over the labour party!!
As Iv'e always seen it if the rich man is buying the poor man is working!! Thats how conservative works. None of this get loads of cash if you don't work bolox!!!

I also say 'f**k the ban', but wouldnt you prefer there to be no more bans or maybe even lift the 2005 hunting act ?
Or would you prefer to skulk around hoping you dont get caught ?

Put it this way like said earlier no matter how loud u shout it falls on deaf ears with labour theres no way as long as their in power that they will revoke the hunting act. BUT..... (and I hope it's a big one) David Cameron said IF he comes into power he'l put a vote to the nation on wether they want to chuck the ban! So I'm voting Conservative. Let's be honest who's going to vote only us hunters and the true anti's. The majority of the nation couldn't b arsed to get up off their arses. As far as I believe we out power the anti's so 1st step to a constructive battle against the hunting act would be to vote conservative not spening £140 for diesel to go to london and walk in the rain shouting f**k the ban when they'l jus close the curtains in the House of Parliment.

It is and as you can see she's still lying in my garden
Bit of time and hard effort with lots of easy rabbits and she's doing really well.
I only hear whines out of her now but they tend to get louder if shes lacking fitness. So I keep her in tip top shape. She started losing hair about 3 months back under her belly, back of the legs and by her ears Iv'e been to 3 differet vets 2 said its hormonal one said it's lack of zinc. She's on a supplement but aint done nothing. it aint bothering her and shes still working well nice long rest through the summer now will do her good.
He is going to be a big lad I think I want a allrounder and thats what his sire was one of the best in his day on all accounts.

Just gave the pup boiled rice and a bit of tripe as my chicken breast hasn't defrosted!! Good news is he eat constant untill he was full!! Don't know wether he'l have dioreah off of it we will see in the morning!

He is drinking loads of water. Thats one thing I have noticed in him. I'm going to try him on boiled chicken and rice and see if that helps. Is it worth getting a xray done to see if there's anything foreign in the gut?
I don't think he's gone off his food I just think he's got real bad guts! Only time and tlc will tell!!

Iv'e got a 14 week old pup! When I first had him he eat like a horse!! Was unbelivable!!
But....Ever since his second jab he became picky and would eat 2 or 3 mouth fulls then stopped eating alltogether!! I kept him on the same food placing it in front of him twice a day for 10 mins then pulling it away untill he got to skinny and then started free feeding him biscuit and offering him meat! He started to eat a little bit since free feeding him but it comes out like water!! I took him to the whitecoats and they gave him a blood test for a liver shunt but came out ok. They want me to go back with a dioreah sample to test for salmonela and other bugs.
I thought I'd come on here to ask the opinion of you guys first before making an appointment.

my mates pup was the same wouldnt eat went thin took him to the vets had an xray he had swallowed a couple of large stones he had to have an op to remove them, ok now.
Christ that could be a option theres cotswolds in the garden!

My mate has got one and for lamping rabbits its perfectly suited. Anything bigger is a bit difficult as their light dogs but you never know if they have it in them.
They struggle a bit on the stamina side for day time hares but will get 1 here and there.
Iv'e got a collie grey x whippet and shes a cracking little dog.
For lamping rabbits it would be my choice anyway.
