  1. Thanks very much Del, I certainly will. Lookin forward to it!
  2. Hope it's ok for us to come along, would love to get a look at everyone's lurchers!
  3. As a cat and lurcher owner I can see both sides, I don't think the police will be interested, as others have said they don't bother about real crime. The rabbit's owners should have made sure their pets were secure, but a peace offering wouldn't go amiss then you can say you've done all you can to put the missus' mind at rest. If one of my lurchers or someone elses killed one of my cats I would accept it as nature (and as long as it was a clean kill at least they wouldn't have suffered, unlike in a road accident), however if someone else's dog came into my garden and did it I would feel that
  4. My pure whippet hunted like that, she always went for it when she was a few feet away, it was very effective for her!
  5. You mean benzyl benzoate, we use it to keep midges off the horses that are allergic to them
  6. I assume you mean that you can't jab him with ivermectin. I think you'll need to get to the vet and ask for some skin wash I know its available but I can't remember the name, but it depends what kind of mange it is!
  7. I feed my pup James Wellbeloved junior, ok it's not cheap but v good product, no wheat etc, I add raw eggs, fish and chicken only in small amounts once per day to the kibble. I fed my first lurcher pup on racing greyhound food til he was 2 and he did pretty well on it, he was a mess when I got him at 5 months though.
  8. What do I do though, just let her loose amongst rabbits? To be frank she's got a head full of nonsense at the moment, more interested in chasing my foster lurcher than anything else although she's starting to show an interest in the local grey squirrels! She put up a fox at the stables when she was quite a small pup, but he went off over a deep ditch and she just looked at him in surprise! I was thinking of going lure coursing to see if she shows any interest in that, there's a local one for deerhounds but you can take any lurcher along. My last dog was a whippet and she caught bunni
  9. Thought I'd introduce myself, I found this forum when I was looking for info on lurchers, got a 10 month old Grey/Bull/Saluki/Collie bitch called Fly. I've not done anything with her because I wouldn't have a clue where to start, she's fit as a flea and ready to learn! We are from Fife in Scotland and I hope to get some ferrets some day too.
