TDD - This is something that is under consideration . I have to say that it is something I have had a lot of discussions about this with a great supporter of strong dogs and someone's whose opinion I value. If you speak to me about this personally I will explain why not this year. You can email me on irishgamefair.com to get my number. -

Winner - as you can see the racing and show are being run by the Glenbank Working Club under the rules drawn up by the NILRC which were supposed to prevent this sort of controversy. I support the concept of a unified body working to agreed rules but obviously the club is not even a year old and there will inevitably be some teething problems. I suggest you take any complaint to the club and I am sure they will deal with it. I have invited the NILRC to be involved in the grading of dogs for the racing at Shanes and as you can see I have provided good prizes across a range of events to reflect -

I simply cannot understand how anyone can hunt without their dog being at least fairly well obedience trained. Still at four dogs - where are ALL of these trained working lurchers? -

Well done Keiran and family. Well organised show with a very relaxed atmosphere. Results of the show appeared to be well accepted and one young man obviously went home very happy. Well done to Paddy and Shane ( defending Digging Champions) who go forward to the final at Birr. In fact all of the guys who took part deserve great credit for putting on a first class show. Sorry I couldn't stay for the racing as I had pup at home I had to feed. But I hear it also went well. Albert -

Sit, Stay, Retrieve dummy or Ball. Possible jump a small fence. - all easy stuff! -
Lots of people have asked will there be camping and caravanning facilities at Shanes Castle and/or Birr. There are NO facilities for camping or caravanning at Shanes Castle - there is a very good Council site with proper facilities at Antrim - the Sixmilewater site - there are a few others a little further away. Regarding Birr - as many might be aware some bales of hay were lit by people staying in the small field that we rent from a local lady to give us access to the fair and particularly to the terrier & lurcher field and clay field. We did ask for permission for a few terrier &am

Not so much a kennel now one 13 yo old but still fullyfit Golden dog, A gordon setter dog, a golden retriever bitch and a pup. Had a dog pup from your lines, he was a very early starter, very biddable and easily trained, possibly the easiest I've ever owned. Got an eight month old pup at the minute called after him, unfortunately that's the only similiarity, but we'll get there. Some learn quicker than others - goldens can be slow. I have a just 3 month pup at the minute who is a very quick learner - but not from my own lines! Mail me your pup's breeding to irishgamefair@btinternet. -

Still only THREE dogs - ARE there no obedient working dogs out there. How on earth can you hunt with dogs that don't have basic obedience? -

As much as i respect albert... My dog will never leave my side for even a day until the day he dies...Good to hear that you are so bonded with him. If I hadn't my own what appears very special pup I might have volunteered to try him sometimes a different handler can work wonders but if you have trained for obedience you would probably know more than me about what you are doing! Hope to see 'THE dog' at Birr or perhaps even at Mourne. We'll both be at birr, possibly mourne as well Looking forward to seeing the dog and possibly fully trained at Birr.
