  2. Yes the Gilford lads should have been given a qualifier sheet for this event anyhow I know who you are and your dog that won, the terrier belonged to a local man and the club secretary has been in contact with the whippet champion owner. I hope very much you will make the trip up to us for the day and bering a few of your friends. Qualifiers were offered to all Lurcher and terrier shows in Ireland. Anyone who was declared Show champion Lurcher Terrier or whippet or was Racing chapion at over 23 under 23 and whippet should also have been qualified. The prize fund should be very good on the day

Kits are now amost ten weeks and the three wee ones are catching up in size thanks to the foster mum and plenty of feeding i lifted my first rabbit of the season last night with my lurcher and it was gutted and in the run with the wee ones while it was still warm they absolutely loved it. Will post a few updated pictures for my friends and anyone interested in a few days
  6. Coloured kit on the left is one day older than the white kit on the right. The coloure d kit whi has been called fudge is a single kit and the wee white is a survivor of three from a litter of seven whose mother ate his siblings at five weeks I have never had a worse breeding season last year a kittled two jills for a friend thirteen in total never lost a single one. I had waited two years to breed my own and took one jill 120 miles to mate her to a bew hob owned by a friend. Well I have a hob from my white jill and a jill kit from my polecat cross so I can blend my lines together which was

  12. It states on the website that the winer of the show at Moira cannot be considered for the top prizes at Ballinlough. Why is this? If it is two different days and different judges well if the dog that wins moira can win at Ballinlough then why should it not be so.

  14. I have since found out that the instrument maker that made the horn for my friend was called richard and come from yorkshire. Any info appreciated thank for replies so far . Not looking to buy off e can
  15. Black rabbits are a natural genetic mutation that occurs in a number of species and is natures design in the event of a major cliamte change event leaving the earth dark the rabbits would blend in. I you look at any rabbits fur you will see there are lots of colours the science term is melanistic. The same applies to ginger silver and collared rabbits all genetic variation not likely to be from the influence of domestic rabbits as the likliehood of one surviiving long enough to breed with a wild rabbit is very slim but not impossible.I have two rabbits stuffed and mounted a black and a brown
  16. I hope to travelto the bundrowse in Bundoran county Donegal on New Years Day with the hope of catching the first Salmon of the year will any one else her be there or heading to a simialr venue for the purpose of an earlt Springer?
  17. I am looking for any information on huntong horn sales and makers. Specifcally a freind of mine purchased a horn from a fellow in England he was an instrument maker and made and shipped the horn which is first coass for a very reasonable fee it has a really good sound unfortunately my freind lost all the detaisl for the chap that made his. Any ionformation would be greatly appreciated.
  18. I have heard lots of hear say and opinions on the subject what i am looking for is if it is written in law that it is not legal to course deer with lurcher's in daylight in season on land that you have full permission of the land owner. In jonathan darcy's running dog addiction it is openly written about taking deer with lurcher's in the republic of ireland so how can it be illegal. One valid point already made is that with a lurcher it would be unlikely an animal would be wounded to die a slow death which can happen with a rifle in the wrong hands.
  19. can you show me or direct me to where i might find the official legislation on the subject because if its a law it has to be in writing.. I think personally that there may not be any laws and that it is just a myth pedalled by the rifle men. I see the current deer population spiralling out of control in my local area in the next three to five years and then they will be regarded as a pest by farmer's and cause havoc to those working hounds at fox and hare, in the republic.
  20. Can anyone direct me to the current legislation regarding the hunting of deer with dogs similar to that which existed in England and wales prior to the hunting act. I have found separate legislation for scotland but I can find no legislation dealing with the subject. You can assume any hunting would be during daylight with landowners permission and in accordance with the open season.
