  7. its no good running your dog to young can ruin it for when there older. no good for the dogs joints and lungs also can be a knock on there confidence, had my dog out watching when she was 5-6 months then waited till my dog was 10 months till i ran her and she caught her first rabbit first run was happy with that
  8. when squeaking in a fox BEFORE THE BAN did you spot the fox then turn off lamp and squeak or keep lamp on infront of the fox so you could just see where it was and squeak ive seen both techniques used dont know whats more effective. also red filters i know there good for it just wondering what you lot USED to do cheers
  9. all rounder i think 1/4 bull 3/4 grey not to heavy so still got plenty of speed also a heart of a lion. collie crosses are also good allrounder but dont think there as game as the bull crosses

A good bull cross wil take rabbits day and night no proble. all the bull crosses ive been out with are good on them if not to heavy. always got rabbits to take home at end of night shit weather or good went out just before end of season had 22 rabbits between mine and my cuzins bull crosses and still wanted more there 1/4 bull very racey doing well
  13. well for me the reason that bull cross running dogs are so popular is that a lot of young silly boys just want out and out killing machines wich trueth be told there not all,a lot of responsible folk have them for good reason but too many silly boys are into them as well thus the huge popularity.now with a traditional type be that what it may for me any way is something thats clever vercitile loyal but harty and a dog to take most all at least all i can eat, good retreavers face cover and water do all manner of day and night work something that thinks well for its self.that why traditional cro
  14. ye that is what i think, both got strengths and weaknesses which when geting a dog you think about and as it shows bull greyhound are the most popular hunting dog out there at the moment now why is that then
  15. dont go fur one full stop. only good for foxes when caught, the kind ur going for will do anythin good one mate you obviously ant seen a bull cross work a 1/4 bred bull cross will do charlie all day long no probs 1/4 bred collie may do it if you got a good one. bull crosses are known as a all rounders they do anythin
  16. i started taking my dog out at about 5-6 months just to watch had her out all the time watching, she seemed very keen from biggining when i ran her she was about 10 months but that was to do with a mix up with age thought she was 12 months thats when i heard was best time for dog to start didint do any harm to her caught her first rabbit on first slip think was just luky run had her good nights and bad night but now doing very well at 2 done it all i think dogs just mature different ages and the key is to not give up on your dog as it will come when there ready
