No he didnt do an xray, he manipulated all of his vertabrea individually and the dog had no discomfort. The problem seems to be in the muscle on his back and neck in particular you can see the muscles all bunched up which is causing the pain. My vet is a close friend and knows sighthounds well and I trust him to decide treatment, hell he has done surgery on me too!

Took my dogs out on Wednesday for some exercise, i deliberatly went to a field were I am not likely to find a hare maybe one a year at best. Of course they put one up an dissapeared over a hill after a few nice turns. In due course they returned without a kill, they are not really fit and still pretty green so I wasnt surprised. They all seemed fine although one of the young dogs was a bit sore in his abdomen. By the next evening he couldnt get up and screamed when you touched him, so of to the vets I went. The vet did a very thorough exam and we decided he had probably fallen and strained an

Trouble with the Welsh lads even the good looking ones smell like lanolin, got to be off putting to the ladies unless they have a sheep fetish. -
just a couple of points there the remark about quote(cloth head terroists) is totally unfounded . the fact that its not illigall ,they are well within there rights to do it ,more times than not the gazzell is lifted into the truck . to run another day ..and the dogs are muzzled .. unles they hunt in the sudan where there is a good wild population of gazzell and they are hunted and killed .unfortunatly we are not allowedd to do either in the u/k or most of europe ..so i guess there kind of lucky to have that option Some of the chases have been not what I would call

You guys talk like you spent a lot of time in the big house!

The last one we took that day the dogs were really knackered and just didnt have the energy to kill it, in the end I ran it down myself tripped it and stuck the knife in. Had a similar thing happen on one run, we saw a lame coyote in the distance hopping on three legs it saw us and started heading away. The ground we were on was split by dozens of dirtroads with bar ditches and we had to keep crawling through them with the truck, as a consequence we couldnt outdrive a 3 legged coyote, stupid I know but there you go it was always about 800yds or more away. We let the dogs out and figured the

in the first pics do the dogs usualy avoid the sharp end and wait for a good hold Nah they were all really tired we caught 5 that day if I remember right. Normally the smoothcoated bitch would have the yote by the throat just like that, she was the most efficient yote dog I have seen so far and fast too.

Seems to vary from group to group and some individuals, it also had to be said that i hunt around the edge of the city so these are quite urban coyotes very desensified to humans and dogs too. I have had coyotes that followed me about a 100yds back barking at me on several occaisions, usualy my falcon gets annoyed and flies over and wacks them in the head and the dogs run at it but dont follow through. I have had my falcon robbed on the kill a few times by coyotes that know I am killing rabbits, had a pack of four join the course once lol. that group actually surrounded me and my mate and o

uphilldoc thanks for the reply looks like theres an awful lot of coyotes out there do they ever get low in numbers or are there not many lads hunting them Never seen a shortage yet, kill abunch and more move into the area. Guy I know over near Roswell shot 32 from a plane on his ranch in one morning, went out the next day and shot over a hundred! Out West with every hand turned against them coyotes just keep on going a tough resourceful animal. wolves got pushed out of a lot of their range by humans coyotes just carried right on, they can be a real pain when I am hawking following me around

Look forward to hearing how your bitch does.

I quit hunting around early March due to the hares breeding and Start up in late September, it is way too hot to run safely in the summer even if there werent young hares all over. It is a 100 degrees right now! Hers a couple of pics from the start of the seaon and the end. Percy the sire of the pup below at the start of the 09 season, he is retired now at ten years old he cant do it anymore This is one of hersons from a litter I bred last year This was in Feb 2010 The black bitch is retired she got a weird condition in her toenails that made them weak crumbly and curly so she would

for a while no one would run with Ernies dogs I think he bred some mellower dogs back into the bloodline. His dogs have always been ok within their pack just outsiders watch out.

Yeah I live in Albuquerque and freezing cold days are the best dont have to worry about the dogs cooking themselves in the heat. Very easy to with the temps we get out here. I know who you mean but have never met that couple didnt know they ran deerhounds though. One of theses days when I have more space I'm going to get a myself a deerhound greyhound cross. I brought A good one over to the states when I emmigrated but one Ernie Eichwalds Stags killed him. Still hurts to think of losing that dog like that.

Nice clip. But where's the hawk? He was about 1/4mile away chasing a dove he actually arrived just after the black bitch got the jack and beat the crap out of the dogs lol

Came back from hunting today and my girlfriend was cooking lamb stew. My old lurcher was terrified as soon as he smelt the lamb cooking and refused to come in the house. Very odd thing he has never done this before and it was really quite funny. Anyone else have dogs with weird phobias? all the best Dirtwinger

If a wallaby was a mammal it would be called a mammal not a marsupial. Besides mammals there are two groups of warmblooded animals found in nature, marsupials they have pouches and give birth to extremely undeveloped young and monotremes of which only two species exist. The duckbilled platypus and the echidna both of which have pouches but lay eggs which they incubate in their pouches. Mammals are more evolved descendants of the monotremes and marsupials. Just because marsupials lactate does not make them mammals. Scientifically marsupials are a seperate genera to mammals and no judge could

I dont care if a wallaby has tits the size of Dolly Partons it isnt a mammal it's a marsupial therefore not covered by the bill so have at it! all the best Dirtwinger
