  2. this is a stoat that i caught while trapping mink and i had the cage baited with the leg of a rabbit.
  3. them branches i put there were to hold the snare in position and shouldnt be an obstruction to Mr. black.but keep him in the right direction for the snare.
  4. well today drew a blank but a little patients goes a long way. Maybe tomorrow.
  5. i was down at the river today spotting for mink sign's and lo and behold plenty of them, so got 1 cage baited and set with a piece of a pheasant that got a hammering from other's in the pin last night. Just around the cornor of the same bridge i seen the run at the but of this tree where im sure they are crossing, so i desided to try something diffrent for a change. I found a rabbit snare in the car and this is the setup that i hope will work. Hopefully tomorrow ill have a victim.

  9. 0 sick of the bait been robbed so i have the traps taken up and set for a mink at the river,
  10. right well they liked the bait but they never set off the cage, so all i can say is there must be nice there more nice than rats. I used the heel of the bread and a good thick layer of peanut butter and chocolate spread and not as much as a crumb left.So today i got a big barrel 40gallen and pasted the inside of it with a jar of jam with a ramp(2x1) up to the rim of it hopeing whatever likes the jam will be in the barrel tomorrow. The cheese/mayo spread wasn't touched.
  11. got 5 fo the cages set thisevening 2 have been set with chocolate spread on bread 2 with peanut butter 1 with a cheese/mayo spread hopefully there will be results tomorrow.

  13. havent been around the place with the lamp but there would be 2/3 seen on a daily basis
  14. this is a dairy farm that hasn't been farmed for some years and its all grass no tillage, i keep my dogs on this property and all food is in sealed barrels, so to figure out what they are eating i couldnt even fathem a guess.
  15. now all i need is some ideas as to what to use as bait and ill get them set straight away.
  16. this is a selection of the cages some are home made, some bought and some reconstructed.
  17. it pretty easy to set a trap on a run so i suppose it's an experiment to see what get the tast buds of these rats to come in.

Iv got a little matter to take care of this week and i need some HELP, there is an old silage pit that is been taken out in a week or so by track machine and at the minute is home to a lot of rats. For the last 4 days i have 8 cage traps set with absolutly nothing caught using soaked dog nuts as bait, i have caught them before not a problem using the same nuts but as of late they seem to take no notice, now what i intend to do is get 8 reciepies and ill put 1 in each of the traps and see which one works best. ill get pics up tomorrow of the cage's and the area i will be trapping so if you th
