Panting is a sign of heat stroke remove ferrets cool down with water & make then drink place i n a carry box with water untill they recover, ensure you cool them there brains are cooking

If its got to hot i have brought then inside in a carrier and stood them in the kitchen which is always nice a & cool especially if i had to go out & wasnt arround to keep n eye on them

In all honesty i dont know but not hours & hours , preventions better than cure anyway , do what you can to make there homes as cool as possible, it helps if theres someone home in the day to check then every half hour or so

heat strokes a killer simple as that if its not spotted soon enough, usual symptoms are panting like a dog listlessness & generally floppy , all you can do is remove the effected ferrets /s and gently cool them down in some water & make sure they drink, ferrets dont sweat & the heats litterly cooking there brains People should be aware its heat stroke rather than sun stroke, so even in a shady area ferrets go down with it , even in the winter , i spoke to a chap years ago who took 4 ferrets out working in the winter & he put them in the boot off his car in a box, when he g
